Hi Rachael there is a procedure in Wikipedia:Copyright_problems#Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia to confirm that GFDL permission is granted on that material. An easier alternative for you could be to rewrite the material in new words. There are special rules on WP:COI and WP:NOTABILITY that have to be followed. SO please make sure you read WP:COI.
