Speedy deletion nomination of BS'n with Brad and Scottie
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on BS'n with Brad and Scottie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Inks.LWC (talk) 04:50, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, RParissi. I'm one of Wikipedia's admins, and I just deleted the page mentioned above. You are correct that many podcasts and vlogs have Wikipedia articles, in order for them to have one, there needs to be some evidence that the show is notable. For web content, we specifically use the criteria found in WP:WEB. While you can follow the link to read the details, the basic idea is that the show must have been discussed in depth in multiple, independent, reliable sources (note that other vlogs or podcasts are usually not reliable sources). Nothing on that page indicated any particular importance or notability for your show, so I deleted it per our policies. However, if you do know of sources that can be used to demonstrate that the show is notable, it may be possible to recreate the article. In fact, if you want, I can move a copy of the deleted article into your userspace, where you can work on it in draft form until such time as the article sufficiently meets our policies to be moved back into mainspace. So, please let me know if you have such sources. You can leave a message on my talk page about this or any other WP questions you have.
- However, I do need to leave one final point. The truth is, you really shouldn't be the one making this page. We have another policy which covers conflict of interest, and a good quick summary of that is that we generally recommend that you don't make pages about yourself, your family, or anything you have a financial interest in. If you are notable enough, someone else will eventually make an article about you. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:44, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
