A tag has been placed on User:ROGER MICHAEL NOEL, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ceranthor 13:02, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First, please note that articles are written with lower case titles, and have to satisfy several conditions including notability and neutrality. Whilst user pages have more leeway, they still should not be used for promotional purposes.

The following statements are promotional or vanity without any listed verifiable sources

  • is an international nightlife consultant.
  • who is hailed as a national hero and martyr.
  • Roger is often referred to as ‘King of Clubs’ of London's nightlife scene.
  • He was awarded the highest honour of 'Outstanding Achievement Award' at the London Club and Bar Awards in 2008 which recognised his contribution to London's nightlife that spans more than 20 years.
  • In the mid 80’s, Roger inspired the transformation of London’s night scene.
  • his unique recipe of mixing socialites, celebrities, pop stars, fashion designers, models and gregarious Londoners helped alter the perception of the city’s night life experience for good.
  • The London Club & Bar Awards presented Roger with the ‘Greatest Night’ award for the concept in 2006, and it won the 'Best Night' category in 2007 and 2008. In 2009, the year of its 6th anniversary, [I AM ROCKSTAR™] was nominated in the ‘Best Night’ category.

I am not prepared to unprotect since the content, even if true and verifiable, is inappropriate for a user page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:04, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You need to decide what you want to do. If you want to create an article just do so at Roger Michael Noel, but bear in mind that it must meet conditions including notability and neutrality, and must not be copied from a website. If you want to create a user page, either chose a completely new user name, or create User:Roger Michael Noel. Remember though that any attempt at self-promotion will result in deletion and/or a user name permanent block. If you really want to keep the existing name, create the text here, let me know, and I'll unprotect if appropriate. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:03, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You need to put the references in line so that we can see what is justifying each claim (see the Lily Allen article for how to do that). It's still full of unsourced claims, and some of your refences like the club awards site say nothing about your man, at least on the linked page. OK, we are getting there, but a few comments
  • Second paragraph is unsourced spam, please remove or reference
  • Putting the TM symbol in an encyclopaedia article is spammy. It's not the place to protect the trademark
  • You can make the references look more intelligible, I've done the first to show you how
  • There is no point me unprotecting the name in its current form unless you can explain why his name should be an exception to the usual rules of English capitalisation of names. Otherwise create at Roger Michael Noel, which is not currently protected Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:37, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Roger Michael Noel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
