User talk:RJN/Archive 3
what section of the houston article are you talking about, as i have noticed there are several neutrallity sections now. is it the one on mass transit or something else? personally, wikipedia is pissing me off. in general, not specifically, no one can decide on anything. i am trying to stick to the IAH page, seeing that i have been constantly adding info on this subject. but, direct me to the page you are talking about and i will see what i can do. urban909
Genrebox
[edit]As I linked to in the edit summary, genreboxes are only ever supposed to go on the main page for a genre (e.g. rock and roll, not every article tangentially related to rock and roll). I removed inappropriate boxes from every genre that used them inappropriately, which was mostly metal, rock and Christian music. Tuf-Kat 00:19, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Images for Deletion
[edit]I've had to list a number of your images for deletion.
- Image:Strand Evening.jpg — It is a copyright violation. Wikipedia does not permit images allowed only for non-commercial use, per Jimbo's ruling.
- Image:BW8-I45S.JPG — You labeled this with a copyrighted free use tag, which means all rights are released for all commercial and non-commercial use. That's not the case when the image is taken from a site like www.houstonfreeways.com; let me know if you are actually the owner of this site.
- Image:Reliant Stadium.jpg, Image:Rice University.JPG, Image:Texas Medical Center ariel.JPG, Image:Uptown Houston.JPG, Image:HCPA Houston.jpg, Image:Williams Waterwall Houston.jpg, Image:Houston Tranquility Park.jpg, Image:Port of Houston.jpg, Image:METRORail Houston000.JPG, Image:Texas Medical Center ariel.jpg — You labeled these with copyrighted free use tags, which means all rights are released for all commercial and non-commercial use. This is not the same as "informational purposes only." These images have no fair use rationale and will be deleted. Similar images at Wikimedia Commons have also been listed for deletion by someone else.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. — Rebelguys2 talk 22:24, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- The problem is that the tag under the image says that anyone can use the images "for any purpose." This releases all rights — meaning that the images can be sold. Effectively, the tag says that the image would be in public domain, it if were possible to release images into the public domain in the United States. Because you said that these images "are not for sale," it effectively contradicts the license listed along with the photo.
- I didn't see that you hadn't uploaded Image:Strand Evening.jpg; thanks for telling me. — Rebelguys2 talk 10:16, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
