You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 23:20, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia Campus Ambassador?
[edit]Hi RJN,
I'm contacting you because you left a message on the talk page of User:Pjthepiano expressing interest in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador in the Houston area. We are still looking for ONE more Wikipedian in the Houston region to support a class at Texas Southern University, and wanted to see if you're still interested in helping out? The time commitment is about 3-5 hours a week, with variations throughout the semester. The professor would like for a Campus Ambassador to come into his class about 3-4 times during the semester (mainly February and March) to teach students about how Wikipedia works and how to edit Wikipedia; the rest of the time students might ask you Wikipedia questions via email, talk pages, and sometimes in person (some Campus Ambassadors hold office hours where students can go for in-person one-on-one Wikipedia help, but it's up to you whether or not to do that).
Would you be interested in this? We're scrambling for one more person who can support this Houston-based class, and your participation would be much appreciated! Please let me know.
Thank you very much.

March 2011 GAN backlog elimination drive a week away
[edit]WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, we hope we can see you in March. MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 00:01, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, hope you're doing well! I switched out the UH-CLC image with one of Rice, hope this is OK with you. If, not please revert. Thanks, Postoak (talk) 02:41, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Image captions
[edit]Hi. I noticed that your reverted some bot edits. Please check per WP:FONTSIZE and MOS:CAPTION. The latter reads "Captions should not be formatted for boldness, size, color, etc.". The reason is that small letters in caption are impossible to read for many readers. Thanks, Magioladitis (talk) 13:29, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Please be aware that Wikipedia accepts non-free images of living people in only exceptionally rare cases. This is per a Foundation dictum on the issue. If a given person is living, it is automatically presumed that a free image of the person can be obtained. About the only exceptions to this are that the person is a famed recluse, incarcerated for life, or the picture depicts the person in a famed picture (usually depicting an historic event). While Wikipedia is conscious of issues regarding the representation of living people (see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy), the idea that we could or would tarnish the image of this individual by obtaining a free licensed image of her is false. For example, she attends multiple graduation ceremonies in which she appears in public, representing the university. No argument can be made that photographing her in that setting, where she is representing the university, would tarnish her image. This image must be deleted, and it would be better if you removed the {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}} tag. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 14:03, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
