Norm Dube infobox

[edit]

Hey, I did some minor fixes on Dube's infobox and saw that you requested for improvements. You nailed most of it down, but I fixed the following so that they conformed to the other info boxes:

  • You forgot to put which side Dube shot from.
  • For career start, we put their first professional year rather than junior/amateur year.
  • The "played for" section was making the infobox unusually long, so I fixed it to make it look less long.

Welcome!

[edit]

Hi RAGentry! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

I've noticed that you've expressed an interest in the Palestine/Israel conflict. Unfortunately, due to a history of conflict and disruptive editing it has been designated a contentious topic and is subject to some strict rules.

The rule that affects you most as new or IP editor is the prohibition on making any edit related to Palestine/Israel conflict unless you are logged into an account and that account is at least 30 days old and has made at least 500 edits.

This prohibition is broadly construed, so it includes edits such as adding the reaction of a public figure concerning the conflict to their article or noting the position of a company or organization as it relates to the conflict.

The exception to this rule is that you may request a specific change to an article on the talk page of that article or at this page. Please ensure that your requested edit complies with our neutral point of view and reliable sourcing policies, and if the edit is about a living person our policies on biographies of living people as well.

Any edits you make contrary to these rules are likely to be reverted, and repeated violations can lead to your being blocked from editing.

Happy editing! Levivich (talk) 18:39, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Levivich, if you weren't aware, I was recently granted extended confirmed status because of my combined history of having over 30 days' experience and over 500 edits across multiple legitimate accounts. If I did not have this user right, I would not have been able to edit Talk:Israel–Hamas war. While I appreciate the Welcome to the Wikipedia community, I have been editing as a member of this community for nearly 14 years, so no such welcome is needed. Please restore my comments on Talk:Israel–Hamas war. — RAGentry (talk) (contributions) 19:37, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, my mistake. Sorry, I just looked at the edit count. Levivich (talk) 19:40, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all, thanks for restoring my comments. — RAGentry (talk) (contributions) 19:42, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Map size

[edit]

The default infobox map size is 250 px, per Template:Infobox settlement. Yet you have added them at 280 px on hundreds of articles. Would you have a moment to go back and fix these. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 11:10, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was basing the map frame sizes off of Pittsburgh which has it at 280. The 30 extra sq pixels make it easier to view the maps and to get the whole shape inside it. If you prefer 250 you can change it if you like. RAGentry (talk) (contributions) 15:35, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Note also that the map size on that template is only a default, not the mandatory size. Therefore, it is a matter of preference what size the map should be. Therefore, an update to the map sizes on pages would not be a fix but a regular change. Note that Los Angeles County, California also uses that template with the map at 280 px. You are free to edit the map sizes on any articles you see fit to do so. RAGentry (talk) (contributions) 15:39, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
