How people went there

[edit]

First people approched the land mainly for animal and crop farming. The village is at the traditional border of Uukwambi and Ongandjera , therefore u can find different ethnic groups such as:1. aakwambi, aangandjera, aakwanyama and aandonga (but very few). The village was full of wild animals by then but now they are rarely found.

There were no schools but now we have a combined school which have grade 1-7 and there is Onkani combined school which have grade 1-10 which is performing quite good comparing with other schools at the rural areas. The recent development that every body can remember is the Ekamba-Onkani gravel road which was recently inaugurated by Hon Erik Nghimtina, the minister of Works Transport and communication[2],It is a 55 km gravel road that connect Oshana to Omusati Region.
