User talk:Queenofboston
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Queenofboston, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

#Brussels So White
[edit]I became wary that in "regrets about the absence of response or action from Brussels-based think-tanks" has a reference to Shada Islam, who works at a think-tank institute. Seeing that Islam has an interest in opinion forming, I left a neutrality dispute on the page. I hope the article can be improved upon.Tomaatje12 (talk) 22:02, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
- I apologize for my ignorance but what is your contention? The fact the Islam comments on think-tanks should not be an issue, if a doctor comments on the medical profession, that makes sense right? Should I replace "Commentators" with "Brussels professionals"? to address this? or do you have another suggestion? Queenofboston (talk) 15:48, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- I don't see the parallel with the medical field. Think-tanks have political agendas. People working for think-tank institute are paid to change the opinion of our politicians. And that made me wary that the article might lean too much towards certain ideas. Tomaatje12 (talk) 21:50, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- The words are fine though. The sources are of political commentators and the article reflects that. Tomaatje12 (talk) 22:24, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Could you please point me to the Wikipedia policy that classifies think tanks as biased source of information? This comes as a surprise to me and I would like to adjust references going forward based on that policy. Queenofboston (talk) 05:18, 22 June 2022 (UTC)

- This section on opinionated sources does not contain any mention of think tanks. It does not provide any basis for your view that think thanks are not a reliable source. Could you either take away your tag or provide some external source information that backs your view, in this case or in general. Queenofboston (talk) 10:31, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Women in Red
[edit]Hi there, Queenofboston, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have someone interested in law, society issues and women as a member of the project. I see you have already created two interesting women's biographies and have written other articles of interest to women. We look forward to many more. If you haven't already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Speedy deletion nomination of Equinox (organization)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Equinox (organization) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Equinox_(organization). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:24, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Use of opinion pieces as sources in articles
[edit]Opinion pieces in the New York Times are reliable sources for what their authors say, but that is all. Your edit to the Qatar corruption scandal at the European Parliament used an opinion piece by Alexander Clapp in the New York Times as its source. Mr Clapp is a journalist based in Athens, and is also a visiting fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford.[1] Your edit made statements of fact, that were in fact statements of Clapp's opinion.[2] We are not allowed to do that. See WP:RSEDITORIAL.-- Toddy1 (talk) 23:07, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- thank you, I will add another source for the facts part of the edit Queenofboston (talk) 23:22, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Have a look at the following source, which may cause you to amend some of the statements in the section you are writing:
- Parrock, Jack (7 March 2023). "Qatargate: Suspect interviews leak EU corruption details". Deutsche Welle.

Upcoming EP elections
[edit]Would you be interested in working on drafts that anticipate the upcoming EP elections? I'm trying to gather editors ahead of time, so we can have an established format and idea of what should be included. I'd like to work on:
- 1. An article about the new EP parliament, similar to Ninth European Parliament --> Medium
- 2.The European Commission article will need to be updated when the new commission --> Large
- 3. There will need to be an update like on the Collage itself, similar to the von der Leyen Commission --> Large
- 4. An update on President of the European Commission --> Small
- 5. Update the High Representative of the European Union --> Small
Let me know if you are interested! Thank you so much for your contributions! Chefs-kiss (talk) 13:39, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

- 4. An update on President of the European Commission --> Small
- 5. Update the High Representative of the European Union --> Small
- I was thinking to have like a draft of the existing pages where we substitute info to more actual information, then when the elections and events start happening these get updated. Chefs-kiss (talk) 15:40, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Apple's EU tax dispute into Ireland as a tax haven. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:39, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
