Alhena (band) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Alhena (band). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:57, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your contribution. The article you consider an advertisement is a translation of one of the articles from the Polish version, so I cannot assume that it is promotional. Can I ask you to indicate the elements that, in your opinion, disqualified the article and require improvement? I will be happy to make any necessary corrections if they are pointed out to me. Hi @Quantor. Thanks for taking the time to translate the article. The main issue is that there are a large amount of random facts in the article that seem to promote the band's appearances. For example: "On June 15th 2012 the band played a concert at the Concert Studio of Polish Radio PiK[17]. The concert was simultaneously broadcast live on the radio."
An article should summarize the main aspects of a topic, not go into detail about random concerts that were played over 10 years ago. I would recommend trimming the article down, making sure that there are less 1 or 2 sentence paragraphs, and then submitting it through articles for creation, where another editor will review the article and provide feedback. voorts (talk/contributions) 23:56, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Voorts
The sentence you quoted is not so "random" and meaningless. I don't know about other countries (e.g. yours), but in Poland playing a concert on a public radio station (not a private one) is a prestigious matter, because not everyone has such an opportunity. Maybe I am "contaminated" by Polish customs and in other matters it is a matter of little importance, but in Poland it is an important event (I know this because I act in this field, including organizing concerts, writing reviews, conducting interviews, etc.), and Alhena had such an opportunity twice (the second one is also mentioned).
The same applies to one-sentence paragraphs, for example where a change in the band's line-up is mentioned. Some band members are quite important names in Poland, so the presence of a given person in the band is quite important.
If I may ask you, please tell me the sentences that you think should be deleted. Quantor (talk) 18:02, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
