Thank you for the barnstar. I appreciated your message on the talkpage, and I realized that I had been in error when I removed the IMDb link. I remove IMDb links so often, I have gotten to the point that I do not even think about it. In the future, I will give it more thought. Discussion needs to take place on the article talk page, not in edit summaries. When you observe content being added and removed repeatedly, your first move should be to the article talk page.   • More than likely you missed the header on my talk page requesting that discussions take place in a single location. Otherwise, we end up like this; me posting a second message with no intervening response on your part. Your point ("Discussion had already ocurred amongst the edit summaries") does not help you; in fact, there was an ongoing talk page discussion when you reverted. Even if it were true, the fact that others are engaging in unconstructive behaviors is not an excuse for one to join in the melee. Please acquaint yourself with Wikipedia:Edit warring. It may not be an "excuse," but it doesn't change the fact that it happened and is now remedied. I'm well informed on what "edit warring" is. I only reverted the edit once. I didn't continually assault the "undo" button.

The last sentence in the second paragraph: The three revert rule is a convenient limit for occasions when an edit war is happening fairly quickly, but it is not a definition of what "edit warring" means, and it is perfectly possible to edit war without breaking the three revert rule, or even coming close to doing so. If I thought you were edit warring you would be blocked now. I am attempting to help you avoid problems in the future. You may accept my advice or ignore it at your convenience. I still fail to see where I violated anything. I abided by the "good-faith" rule and I thought my edit summary was appropriate in that respect. I felt the attacks in the edit summaries were getting quite personal and probably should have been addressed on their own, but the situation has since been resolved.

Please don't think that I don't appreciate your advice. I'm relatively fresh here so it's good to get some insight from others. I apologize if I've come off as hostile or defensive. QValintyne (talk) 04:47, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Silent Hill

Thank you. It does seem to attract a long-term assault of particular vandalism. Its almost always involving adding cast who aren't in it for whatever reason. You'd think people who know who those characters are (and they must, to be adding them) would be fans and so would want to NOT be a detriment, but who can explain the mentality of some IPs. There seems to be a lot of purposeful misdirects (like Miley Cyrus or Ashley Tisdale as Heather) or some odd fan casting (like Owen Wilson as Murphy) spewing up on occasions, but man... I don't get it either. There was a mini-debate about the fact of Sean Bean's casting, but fans of the series know about the plot twist in Silent Hill 3 and are almost certain the same one will be implemented in the film. Thanks for uploading File:Phil LaMarr's Twitter confirmation.png, which you've sourced to Twitter. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
