Information icon Hello, I'm FifthFive. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Abraham Maslow, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Are there any sources that refer to his thinking as conservative? FifthFive (talk) 03:54, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to update the section name in a way that more accurately reflected Maslow's loose connections to eugenicist thought (and essentially non-existent connections to eugenics as a historical movement). I was so confused to see the first sentence of Maslow's wiki describe him as a eugenicist as it doesn't square with the historical record; there are plenty of psychologist who were literal eugenicists, and Maslow doesn't fit. I'll happily drop the "conservative" addition but do think "eugenicist thought" more accurately portrays the situation. Psych-historian (talk) 04:00, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you mean - that makes sense. Your change to the lead is good, thanks (it cited an unreliable source, see below). I gave the warning because the section title didn't match the content. If there are other sources that describe his connection as more loose, then the section could be tweaked along with the title.
Though, looking through the sources cited to support the part in the lead & the section, most are from one person ('Jules Evans'). The others, like the wiki and medium blog post, aren't reliable. That could probably take some trimming, especially if there are other sources that disagree.
