Oblates of Notre Dame

[edit]

The Society of Oblates of Notre Dame (OND) is a religious congregation of women of pontifical right dedicated to the works of the apostolate. It was founded in 1956 in Cotabato, Philippines by two Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (O. M. I.), Father George Dion, OMI subsequently Apostolic Vicar of Jolo and Tawi-Tawi and Archbishop Gerard Mongeau, OMI, DD of the Archdiocese of Cotabato.

They were with the first four daring missionaries who landed in Manila, Philippines in 1939. They pioneered the OMI missionary adventures in the provinces of Cotabato and Sulu, considered the most difficult areas in the Philippines. The country, then was faced with poverty and shortage of priests and mission partners.

Seventeen years later, on November 10, 1956, the OND has come into existence in the Church as a response to the crying need for a community of women that could complement the role of priests and for a community that could understand its own people.

Today, the Oblates of Notre Dame is at the threshold of its 50 years of missionary presence in the Church. It has more than 200 professed sisters.

They are on missionary engagements in the Philippines

Bual Sur

[edit]

Bual Sur is a barangay located in Midsayap, North Cotabato. It is one of the pioneering barrios in Cotabato as it was one of the first settlements of migrants from Visayas wanting to adventure the island of Mindanao.

The barangay is mainly dependent to agriculture specifically rice and vegetable production. Bual Sur is an adjacent of the poblacion area of Midsayap, therefore it has the potential of growth in terms of population as manifested by the influx of new residents preferring to have permanent home here.

Salunayan

[edit]

Salunayan is one of the biggest and most populated barangays of Midsayap in North Cotabato. It is a thriving place of agriculture as it produces large bulk of rice as well as vegetables supplied in Midsayap and nearby municipalities.

Salunayan has been settled by mostly Ilocano migrants from Luzon such as the Fernandezes, Dumlaos. There is also a significant number of Ilonggo and Cebuano residents. But of course, there is a presence of Muslim (Maguindanaon) staying here as they, after all, are the natives of this place. Presently, the demographics of Salunayan is well distributed in terms of cultural origins since it hosts to military camps due to its proximity to Muslim secessionist infested areas of Midsayap. Soldiers bringing in there families from all over the Philippines chose to stay for good in Salunayan.

The barangay is bordered by Agriculture and Central Glad in the North, Nes and Mudseng in the east,Malingao in the west and Tumbras in the south.

It has a complete public high school and elementary. It has a spacious plaza for social and sports activities. Plus, it has a concrete barangay hall, health center and activity hall.

Records shows that Salunayan produced notable personalities. The present Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Kalookan in Metro Manila and former bishop of the Diocese of Iba in Zambales claimed to have Salunayan as his place of birth and Salunayan Elementary School as to where he finished his elementary education.

A tag has been placed on San Pedro Hospital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
