[edit]Any relation??? ;-) --LV (Dark Mark) 01:09, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Sandbox
[edit]Hey, way to recent changes patrol! Just so you know, there's no need to clean up the sandbox, there's a bot that does that. Unless of course you see something really offensive in there that's got to go. I hope my new sig. doesn't offend you! Welcome! Makemi 23:26, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. You were using it like a sandbox. I'm just going to be quiet now. Happy editing! Makemi 23:28, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Haha, was just testing out installation of godmode-light; previous tries on Opera just crashed, so I think as of five minutes ago I just made myself a Firefox convert. Though, yes, the sandbox is surely a safe place to make merciless reverts. Cheers! ~ PseudoSudo 23:34, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I was very happy to see that you reverted the harmul edits on one of my created pages (Clever waste of time). Keep up the good work! Kntrabssi 02:19, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

regarding your note at User talk:172.168.232.130
[edit]The anonymous edits were, in fact, user:catapult having lost its sign-in cookie. I assume this is due to database errors, as it does attempt to confirm, between edits, that it is still signed in. Just in case this does fail, however, I have chosen to include a link to my own username in the summaries of all edits the bot performs to avoid panic. See also the discussion at WP:AN. Regarding the hidden <!-- html comments --> I did have a reason for removing them. If the bot encounters <!-- {{test}} --> it replaces would otherwise change {{test}} to {{subst:test}}, and then change it again to {{subst:subst:test}} on subsequent runs. I would have programmed it to ignore anything that already starts with {{subst.*?... but {{subst}} itself is also a message template that should be subst'ed. Confusing you yet? — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 22:25, Feb. 13, 2006
- I have thought further about this and decided to modify the behavior to change <!-- {{test}} --> to <!-- Template:Test --> for example. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 22:28, Feb. 13, 2006

- Okay: firstly, 3RR states 'Do not revert any single page in whole or in part more than three times in 24 hours', so if you are arguing you are excluded from this by changing one word twice and then adding the same word twice rather than four strict reverts, it is invalid. Secondly, I don't care about the specifics in the first place; if it actually mattered to me at all I'd report it as an incident to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RR, but you seem like you're making useful edits so I don't feel like you deserve being blocked. Just take a step back from the article; the point of the 3RR is simply to prevent revert wars. You're doing fine. ~ PseudoSudo 08:22, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Steve Wozniak "Test"
[edit]Hi,
The information I corrected on the page concerning Steve Wozniak and Segway Polo come directly from Steve's mouth. I play Segway Polo with Steve and he had mentioned that the information about him pushing a 12 year old girl off her Segway was incorrect (I remember the real story) so when I went on the site I corrected it. Not sure why you assumed the information I added was erroneous.

RE: user 82.15.17.152 aka NoToFrauds aka TroyVaughn aka NoToNutss aka ??
[edit]The following letter was sent originally to talk:jondel. I'm sending it to you as well because you were involved in the blocking of the individual in the subject headline. I'm just going to bring it to the attention of the sysops that have been acquainted with the behavior of this individual in the past. Sorry for the lengthy post.
Hi Pseudo,
Sorry to bother you with this matter, but the invidivual in the header line here has been creating headaches for editors and sysops alike. I'm coming specifically to you with this note because he has already been blocked once before under the handle-less IP 82.15.17.152 (looks like he erased any trace of that on his discussion page). He has further posed as a sysop, and claimed that his 'partners in crime' are sysops in order to dissuade new editors like myself from making additions. I'm surprised other Sysops haven't proceeded to block his other handles. He has only been destructive on here, and has yet to offer a single constructive edit. Sysop Fire Star has been moderating a discussion on the talk:mahavatar babaji page, which this individual has continued to sabotage. He has also written a note here: talk:TroyVaughn - basically a note to himself - his other handle, illustrating his future intentions as destructive to the spirit of wikipedia. The other sysops that were involved at different times are: CambridgeBayWeather, and Djoorjam.
The result of this behavior is that my colleagues who originally asked me to make the contributions that I have been making since I started with Wikipedia, have told me that it is not worth it to bother with this and waste my time, as this individual will never stop trying to malign us. I am coming to you as a final plea for help before I leave the forum here - what should I do? Is there anything I can do? Or do I just have to take it or leave it? Your suggestions would be appreciated.
My proposal, which you may or may not deem as plausible, is to block all the associated IPs, after doing a review of them to check evidence of them being from the same individual, in order to make it as hard for this person as possible to continue this action. Of course, I understand that I am not an unbiased observer...but that's what I feel to be the most productive course of action. Hamsacharya dan 04:37, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

regarding IP address spying
[edit]Hey Pseudo,
I wanted to write this note here, because I don't want NoToFrauds to see it- he has spied on my IP address and located the area that I live in. He has also done research on my identity, and now is referring to me by a non-anonymous name that he is associating with me. He keeps blasting this everywhere he goes, and it's frightening me that he would go through the trouble to try to do that. I'm literally afraid that this person will go to any extreme...and may attempt to take things into the real world with the same aggressiveness that he is taking wikipedia. I'm not sure what to do about this. But I feel like these are grounds for a speedy blocking. You can see it all over the talk pages associated with Mahavatar Babaji, Kriya Yoga, Yogiraj Gurunath, Nath, my personal talk page, his talk page, others talk pages....it's ridiculous and it's scary... Please don't move this particular conversation to my talk page. thanks.. Hamsacharya dan 22:53, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Just a forewarning, any user can see all of your edits with a simple visit to a page (Special:Contributions/Hamsacharya dan), so if he has been tracking your edits he will likely come across this page; if you would feel more comfortable continuing this over a non-public channel, email me at Special:Emailuser/PseudoSudo. In any case, User:82.15.17.152 was blocked earlier today for a recent blank war on his talk page; this action also blocks any user from editing from that IP for 24 hours as well (namely NoToFrauds and friends). As per policy, "speedy blocks" on Wikipedia are usually limited to cases of obvious vandalism, to prevent administrators from abusing their privileges. Regarding further blocking, this is how things will go: if the CheckUser turns up positive, then a listing on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents describing the behavior of the involved individual(s) should result in long-term blocks. ~ PseudoSudo 23:31, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- This is very good news. Thanks Pseudo. Let's see what happens next... :) Hamsacharya dan 23:44, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Pseudo -
- Chai Walla has been reverting my edits on Nath page, and adding baseless statements that go against no original research to the Yogiraj Gurunath page. I think he is "guarding" the Nath page, per that note from Adityanath that I reprinted for you above....frustrating....your help appreciated! Hamsacharya dan 04:56, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Also, he's sockpuppeting with Baba Louis again. See talk:Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath
- Hey; so the CheckUser has come up positive, and I see you've started to act upon it. Regarding the question of banning, a simple listing on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents with a link to the CheckUser page will likely indefinite-ban User:TroyVaughn, User:Baba Louis and User:Chai Walla per WP:SOCK. If you are considering filing cases against User:NoToFrauds and User:Adityanath for other general policy violations (WP:NPA, WP:3RR, WP:NOR, etc.) start building up evidence; gather this by going through the page histories of those you've edited, the contribs of the users and their socks, and collecting links to the appropriate edits. I'd suggest including these in that same WP:AN/I case for the sockpuppets; if it ever needs to move to WP:RFAR then you've most of the work done.
- If any of this is at all confusing to you, or you've any questions whatsoever, post here for help. ~ PseudoSudo 22:47, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks a lot for the notification. That edit was made with elinks v0.10.6; I sometimes edit from a blocked IP and the quickest solution to get around it is to use elinks over an SSH connection to my server. Unenrolled voters
[edit]Yes, the talk page was quite cluttered - after some edit in the page history, the wikification was lost, and I haven't had the chance to track it down yet. What I did was redirect "unenrolled" to "unenrolled voters" for now - I will also edit the AfD page so that people know it is a new article they are reading now, and if another deletion is needed, an AfD is probably best. I hope it doesn't come to that though! Apparently, the status of unenrolled voters (although in the minority) is quite important in Massachusetts. Thanks again for your note! --HappyCamper 13:57, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

- Wow thanks, I learn something new every day. I had actually been doing work on articles in another wiki regarding a local branch, and the website of the branch office spelled it with the double E-- but you are correct, the national site has the single E. Very interesting, and thanks for your help and reversion!Santaduck 04:54, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Comments in Wikipedia articles
[edit]What makes the difference between the comments that are at the bottom of many Wikipedia articles stating things like "this article is a stub..." and the comment that I had at the bottom of the At What Cost?, Cornell article? Cheers, HalfDome 01:32, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Essentially, the only non-contextual content that is allowed in articles are templates; {{stub}} is a template. If you can make something that merits a page in the template namespace, it's appropriate to include in the article. ~ PseudoSudo 02:47, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Can you provide a reference for what you just said? First of all, I find it always to be good to make sure that what someone says is not just what they personally think about Wikipedia, but rather what the community has decided, particularly when they did not provide a reference in the first place. And second, I want to understand the nuances that exist that resulted in you using the word "essentially". Thanks, HalfDome 12:14, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- The first few paragraphs of WP:SELF outline the topic; references to the category and template space are towards the end of the page. ~ PseudoSudo 13:37, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Stempekissen
[edit]Help! How can I make this entry more the sort of thing that would justify its existence. I mean it SHOULD be there but what further clarification do you need? Triangle e 19:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hey. Essentially, all musicians have to be verifiably notable to merit an article on Wikipedia. Take a look WP:MUSIC and decide if Stempelkissen meets any one of the items under the criteria for inclusion listed on that page. If so, include a one-sentence mention of the item in the article, with a citation to a website documenting the item (use an article such as Susie Dietter as a model for the format). If you've any further questions don't hesistate to ask. ~ PseudoSudo 19:58, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Quick note. You tagged an article about this person Micheal mols as non-notable. He was in fact a notable footballer, his name just happened to be misspelled. If in doubt, make sure a name follows naming conventions, and try searching the Dutch Wikipedia to check; - Mgm|(talk) 11:44, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose. The claim to notability ("micheal mols is a footballer he is from the holland national team and is a very good fitba player he rocks man he rocks also go to rangers") honestly just did not seem geniune; this is actually a recurring problem at the moment, as (mostly second-time) visitors who create vanity articles often make blatantly false claims to notability (such as "she is the CEO of the second-largest corporation in the world"; I came across that one about a month ago) to invalidate WP:CSD#A7's application and force an AfD. Regardless though, looking back, given the article was 95% cruft, {{db-nonsense}} may have been a better choice for a tag than {{db-bio}}, but just barely. ~ PseudoSudo 03:30, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Vandal Counter
[edit]Thanks for keeping the counter up to date. (A slightly paradoxical thought occured to me, if someone just came a long and upped the counter would that be vandalism or not?) JoshuaZ 00:58, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yep; adding false information to a page, and in the process providing a basis for the falsehood to become truth. Reading over Paradox it seems that it's classified as a self-reference, but I'd have to read up more on the topic to be able to attempt to take a stand on the matter. ~ PseudoSudo 01:06, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

I have added references to this article. This band was a pioneer of psychedelic music in Australia see [2]. In particular, Lobby Loyde is notable as a member of two notable Aussie rock bands Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs and Rose Tattoo. Lobby Loyde and Wild Cherries were cited in Episode 3 of Long Way to the Top, a documentary on the history of Australian rock and roll see [3]. I would be grateful if you could take a look. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care. |

- Hey. You did fine; contacting others on Wikipedia is done via their user talk pages. Always remember to sign your posts by adding four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~. Regarding your question about linking to your webpage, it's been rather controversial when editors add links to their own pages under External links sections, especially on multiple articles. Take a look at the first couple paragraphs of Wikipedia:Spam#How not to be a spammer, as well as Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines#Vanity edits: examples; they explain the concept with a bit more depth. Feel free to add another message below this one here if you've any further questions. ~ PseudoSudo 22:45, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hi PseudoSudo,
- I shall in future post links on this talk page with comments so that you (or any editor) may have a look at it and add it to the database of Wikipedia if found to be appropriate for that topic/category.
- I have reached the fag end of my cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... I am above all the physical inhibitions for that matter.
- If all copies of sacred scriptures on mother earth get destroyed... I shall reproduce them again. That is the capability i am talking of. Most subjects related to spirituality and hinduism are like abcd to me. I am presently busy writing a commentary on bhagavad gita... may take about 3 yrs to complete!
- Hope to have interaction with you from now on. thanks

A short Esperanzial update
[edit]As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Hydnjo's response to the blocking proposal
[edit]I thank one and all - Jarandal, Antandrus, Titoxd, Xaosflux, TenOfAllTrades, mboverload, PseudoSudo, Knowledge Seeker, Haukurth, Deathphoenix, Zzyzx11, Tyrenius, Zscout370, AnnH, Rick Block, Tyrenius (again), Zscout370 (again) and NoSeptember for your support.
To Jeffrey O. Gustafson who initiated this block request I ask why? We have had no interaction until now so how do you come to this requested action at WP:AN? Did you come across my account during your own research or are you acting as a proxy for another admin/user with whom I've caused to be angry with me? In reviewing your contributions I see no such "letter of the law" before now and so I feel singled out by you and I have no clue as to why - that to me is most disturbing. If you've come to this action on your own then should I be always wary of another admin challenging the legitimacy of my account?
For TenOfAllTrades who advised me not to worry and Rick who made me laugh I give special thanks, you've helped me to not take this so personally. And to Jeff, thanks for being courteous in informing me of your action and for letting me feel that your heart wasn't for blocking me.
Except for my one explanation above, I haven't edited for a few days now so as to allow y'all to comment about this based on my history of contribution rather than my reaction to it.
I wanted to say all of this before it all goes to archive heaven. I still have a lingering concern that this may arise again and don't want to go through WP life looking over my shoulder or worrying that I might piss-off some admin and cause another inquiry about the legitimacy of my account. If any of you who have been so gracious as to take the time to support me here have any suggestions to prevent such an action, please drop your thoughts on my talk or by email.
Finally, on a personal note to all, I never ever expected so much supportive response from all of you. I know that I've been moody at times and have spoken in ways that I have regretted the next day. I hoped otherwise but it seemed that those unfortunate responses might end up being my legacy as they were the foremost in my mind. And so far as this being a "role account", I think that I'll let the descriptions of AnnH and NoSeptember (both above) stand as the most intuitive descriptions of this account. My (and our) warmest regards to all of you for your understanding and outward support for the continuation of hydnjo's user account and future contributions. Again, my delighted and humble thanks :-) --hydnjo talk 02:03, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
addendum: Jeff, I was confused at the outset in that I wasn't aware of the "role account" policy and then after becoming aware I was frustrated that I had made so many edits which could mislead someone to the conclusion that my account was a role account. I'm sorry that in my zeal to understand your actions that I posed the possibility that you were acting at someone else's behest. I have no evidence of that and it was improper of me to even mention that such a bizarre conspiracy was possible. I find myself guilty of "blaming the messenger" and posting an inappropriate comment about your motivation.
As for my account, I want to state that it is not a role account and I apologize for leaving the impression that it is one. "hydnjo" is the signature that I commonly use for much of my correspondence and thought it to be appropriate when I first started my WP account. The portmanteau is an acknowledgment of our shared existence and not an indication that Heidi and I share in editing at WP.
I thank you for your courtesy in informing me at the outset of the discussion at WP:AN and for your compliments about my contributions. The comments in my response were made in the shadow of my own frustration with my having left a trail of edits that could easily be construed as having come from either Heidi or myself. I sincerely apologize to you for making any suggestion as to your motivation in bringing up a legitimate policy question. You have a genuine concern for the orderly behavior of our editors and I thank you for initiating this discussion and providing me the opportunity to explain the nature of my account. --hydnjo talk 18:58, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Spoilers in Opera Articles
[edit]Hello. As you probably did not know, the {{spoiler}} tag has been deemed unneccesary for opera articles as discussed at WP:WPO. The reasoning was that the synopsis is present in the programmes, and the music is far more important than the plot. --Alexs letterbox 07:54, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Dear Pseudosudo, thank you so much for your beautiful words, your kidness and your trust in me. My Request for Adminship is finally over, and the support and appreciation that the community has gifted me will stick in my mind as long as I live. I have no way to properly express how grateful I am to you for all you've done for me, and all I can tell you is, I'll try not to disappoint you nor anyone else with my use of the buttons... and if I mess up, make sure to come here and give me a good yell! :) Seriously, tho, if you ever need my help, either for admin-related stuff or in any other way, you'll always be welcome to message me, and I promise I'll try my very best.
Despite I've never had the pleasure of talking to you until now, dear Pseudo, I really think the best gift that my RfA has given me is to meet people like you, as I see that you're a great editor and an awesome person. From this day on, I also consider you my friend, and I'd be happy and honored if you accept me as your own :) With a big hug, your friend,

User's ninth edit.
[edit]Speaking as a new editor, calling out someone's new status during an argument is offensive. I read Wikipedia and watched its internals for two years before I began editing it recently (I was a long-time critic). If a comment to an MfD is someone's ninth edit, why does that matter? It's not as if they created the account nine edits ago -- the account existed longer than the MfD was present -- just to comment on that page and look like they knew what they were talking about (or were "established").
Please reconsider before posting comments like "User's ninth edit." and "Account created one minute ago". I agree, it seems suspicious, but perhaps this user had a genuine reason not to have an account. I do not think you are assuming good faith here, and I feel you are biting the newcomers.
That's just my two cents. Everybody was new once. --JStalk 21:43, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I have to be rather firm about this one: Assume good faith is not an excuse to turn the other cheek at blatant sockpuppetry.
- Note the userpages: User:Funkyzeit, User:Mister Righteous, User:Rustag. Identical layout.
- Funkyzeit: {{welcome}}d himself, and another {{welcome}} to a user who had just vandalized; complete edit history spans five minutes.
- Rustag: complete edit history spans three minutes.
- Mister Righteous: edit with identical summary to Funkyzeit ("grammar" / "grammar"); excluding three edits made earlier, complete edit history spans nine minutes.
- I assure you that none of them are newcomers; they all belong to one single user. In times like these when accurately measuring the consensus of the community is extremely important (especially in the situation we have here with the page on DRV), letting other users become aware of sockpuppetry is crucial. ~ PseudoSudo 22:39, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for the explanation. I didn't heavily analyze Mister Righteous, which was actually the account I was concerned about. Good eye! My apologies. If I could rescind the comments on the MfD, I would. --JStalk 23:12, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

- It's actully going to go back to AN/I, but I'm revising the first paragraph to make the discussion fork clear; it'd be nice if the AN thread can actually get to some sort of consensus about what to do with userpages of indefinitely blocked users and not get turned upside down with what does need to be an AN/I post. ~ PseudoSudo 14:56, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Lorrainier SPA
[edit]If we're looking at single purpose accounts that seemed to jump into the WP:DENY debate argueing to delete LTA pages and CVU, user:Lorrainier exhibits the same patterns. Tell me what you think of the similarities in early behavior to that of Dr Chatterjee et al. Can add another RFCU request. This may be part of the vandals little war against eachother, getting eachothers LTA subpages deleted. I got some theories on this, but let me know (preferably on this talk page) what you think of Lorrainier's contribution style. --Kevin_b_er 19:17, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- You're not talking to an expert here, but, I mean, blatant, blatant throwaway; what, active ten days, 93% of contributions outside articlespace, the signature subtle irony ("attention freaks", "damned CVU", "against others wanting to deny recognition"); I'd honestly block as an obvious troll sock without going through the trouble of checkuser confirmation. If you've a lead or two that we're dealing with an entirely different entity here then a checkuser's not going to link the two, but it'd definitely be interesting what kind of data they can pull up on the underlying IP with respect to other known trolls. I'm still surprised that someone put that much effort into establishing Dr Chatterjee as an editor yet didn't think it necessary to keep strict to one sockpuppet per zombie. I'm also kicking myself in the shins for not pulling an nmap on that 71.107.251.78 address the moment I found it (first thought was that it was just a dynamic IP from that had been recently re-assigned), but whatever. Anyway, sure, try forwarding to checkuser. ~ PseudoSudo 10:26, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, it's a Boulders sock. Just caught him on a slip; note the timestamp of the last edit of Jorge Rodriguesss, who I spent ten minutes reverting just now (note [4]), and the timestamp of the first edit of Lorrainier today. Three minute gap. Same guy. ~ PseudoSudo 21:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Image:TheSTART.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:TheSTART.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 04:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi PseudoSudo,
Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace templates. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pcmag-logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pcmag-logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Removed from Signpost spamlist
[edit]Hi! I'm Ral315, editor-in-chief of the Wikipedia Signpost. It appears that you have not edited in at least a few months. To avoid spamming your talk page any further, should you be on leave, your name has been removed from the Signpost spamlist. If you wish to continue receiving the Signpost on your talk page, please leave a note on my talk page to that effect, and I will restore your name, and keep you on the list indefinitely. Speedy deletion nomination of TheStart
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on TheStart requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.beindependent.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=286&upc=79417158572. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Anne Delong (talk) 03:57, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
