Information icon Hello, I'm 2601:188:0:ABE6:2CE7:9FE7:32F1:AC2A. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because they appeared to be promotional. Unable to change page

[edit]

Our page is 7 years old and information and links are broken. I have update twice but it has been undone. Does the page need to be deleted and then reopened? Help appreciated. Prowler1952 (talk) 00:23, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with your edits has been explained--much as we'd like to have updated content, it can not be promotional in tone, and it can not be copied directly from another website, as you have done. Please read the explanations above. Thank you, 2601:188:0:ABE6:2CE7:9FE7:32F1:AC2A (talk) 00:28, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, you referred to the article as "our page"--WP:COI may be relevant. An article's subject doesn't own the Wikipedia page, and connected accounts are advised to tread lightly. Cheers, 2601:188:0:ABE6:2CE7:9FE7:32F1:AC2A (talk) 00:40, 3 August 2015

Apologies. I was advised to open an account to edit this page. I do not edit other pages. The information on the Harding page can no longer be Referenced with the current links. Is there another way for the text to approved by you?

Possible conflict of interest

[edit]

Since you have referred to Harding Academy (Memphis) as "your page", it seems you may have a conflict of interest and I would like to provide you with the helpful information below. Deli nk (talk) 18:47, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Prowler1952. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Deli nk (talk) 18:47, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
