Recent edit reversion
[edit]In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. ~~~~ S Philbrick(Talk) 23:04, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info.
- Please understand that what you see is a very early draft. The quotes that you see, for the most part, are placed where they are as a reminder that I want to convey that at least some of that information in my own words. I also go back over my text numerous times to try to maximize reading ease and make everything flow together.
- Again, this is a very early draft -- which is why I haven't submitted anything for review yet. Prophecy Guy (talk) 23:21, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- I would very much appreciate it if you would restore the information you deleted, and at least wait until I desire to have my draft reviewed before you start changing the manuscript. Prophecy Guy (talk) 23:24, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the short answer is no. I understand the desire to use information that might technically be copyright violations with the intention of cleaning it up paraphrasing it acceptably quoting it or otherwise transforming it so that it is acceptable. While I personally think that's not good editing policy, some editors do it and it is acceptable if it is done off-line. Some people are under the impression that non-submitted drafts are exempt from copyright policy but that's not the case. Copyright violations must not be introduced, even for drafts, even if you plan to clean them up within seconds. S Philbrick(Talk) 01:11, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- If I understand you correctly, what you are saying is that the "draft" space is really a space for moderators to monitor what a writer is composing, and not so much a "blank sheet" for the writer to compose his thoughts.
- Is that correct?
- If so -- it might be nice if you made it clear that moderators will monitor anything that you put down in a "draft" space, and may very well delete your notes. . . . even if you consider it merely as "notes" that you do not intend to publish. Prophecy Guy (talk) 01:22, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Draft space is not to be used as "notes" that are not intended to be published. If you want to keep notes like that, there are any number of local and cloud-based note-taking solutions you can use. —C.Fred (talk) 03:52, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:David Wilkerson Prophecies
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:David Wilkerson Prophecies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Bbb23 (talk) 23:24, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
