Prof moliterno, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Prof moliterno! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Please join other people who edit Wikipedia at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space on Wikipedia where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from peers and experienced editors. We hope to see you there! Hi
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I've moved a piece of work by User:JMatthews12 (who seems to be one of your students) into his/her user space. It was in danger of deletion where it was. I've explained to them that articles are best started in user space, where they are only in danger if they stray into attacks, advertising/promotion or copyright violation. we do have a number of editord who are involved with liaising with school/college/university projects, but for the moment the only one I can think of is User:Anna Frodesiak who has been involved with Chinese students and lecturers. Most of the active admins and regular editors are willing to give advice on navigating the labyrinths of Wikipedia. (I don't even know half of it, and I'm an admin! I concentrate on deletion (and explanation and rescue...), while others have other special areas.) Once again, welcome. Peridon (talk) 20:16, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- BTW The Teahouse (above) may sound a bit twee, but it's a good place for people with questions, and WP:PRIMER is a good read for new editors. Peridon (talk) 20:17, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! I had told the students to work in their sandbox ... many of them are new to Wikipedia (as am I!), so I guessing a number got it wrong. I also told them to make the first line in their sandbox article a link to my userpage, so that I could be contacted with any problems. So I'm glad you found me. Thanks for your help! Prof. T. my sand box
[edit]Hi Professor, I need some help on the article , I'm almost done, but I'd like to practice the talk feature. and I wonder if you will see this message. - Hi Yael - I did get this and I'll check out your sandbox. As a sidebar, you might want to check the guidelines for using talk pages: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Help:Using_talk_pages. Generally speaking, you only want to use these pages for discussing the content of the page (recommended edits, etc.). Messages like the one you posted for me are probably better sent by email. Thanks Prof. T. Moliterno 02:03, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Freeloading
[edit]There was one small matter missing from the assignment for your Fall 2012 Social Entrepreneurship class: you omitted to tell the students that once written, the articles should be moved to mainspace so that they actually become part of the encyclopedia. As it stands you could be considered to be simply using Wikipedia as a free host. There are about two dozen articles in sandbox pages on or two of which might actually make viable articles.
Please complete your assignment by getting your students to publish their work. I will give you a month or so but if nothing happens I shall delete all of them. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:01, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
