Please be more careful with your edits

[edit]

I reverted some of your edits as they introduced numerous spelling errors, such as here: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Scott_Weinrich&oldid=1025108947. Please use the preview button in the future to avoid such errors FMSky (talk) 00:17, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ok--I just thought I made the article better written--sorry if there were errors--I don't think that made my work mute.

Hello, Probecks! I'd like to reinforce FMSky's request above. Your edits are introducing a number of unwanted changes (e.g. expressing song titles in italics instead of "between quotation marks"). Also, only the very first mention of the article's topic should come in bold, all the others can be left as they are. And plese, use the preview button before saving your edits, otherwise the article history becomes unnecessarily clogged with lots of consecutive edits that make it harder for us to understand what has been changed. Thank you, Victor Lopes Fala!C 16:32, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Victor: I realized that about the Bold only as the first mention. I like changing the song title to italics rather than quotes because if it is in italics (the proper form) quotes are not needed. That is my preference. As far as what changes I make I am just trying to make the articles better. Many of them are written poorly. Thanks.

The Manual of Style guidelines we have on this website states that song titles should be quotes, NOT italics. Please leave them as they are. FMSky (talk) 05:39, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason song titles would be used in quotes instead of italics is to avoid spelling errors. When that happens I click on ignore and it goes away. Quotes really is too informal. It implies a nickname instead of a proper name. It reflects the bad style people use in general which is too informal and conversational with too many commas. 2601:280:4701:5A60:3C5E:17B6:4DAA:646B (talk) 15:50, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's a guideline, please read MOS:MINORWORK --FMSky (talk) 16:31, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok--I don't like it I think it looks bad but I'll accept it.

Hi, thanks for your contributions. I've noticed that you have put song names in quotes now, which is correct. However album names and names of EPs should still be italicised per the manual of style. Basically only song names should be placed in quotes. See MOS:MAJORWORK.----- FMSky (talk) 20:49, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why you guys care or why you can't just leave me alone. I do make the articcles better. why don't you mind your own business?

Don't be rude. How do those these articles, including those where I reverted your changes, make them "better"? We don't begin articles with "Michael Schenker was born...and is best known for his work with UFO...", read Wikipedia:MOS for example, if you wish to continue contributing to Wikipedia. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 18:19, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

yeah you are the one who is rude. that whole thing with the birthdate looks wrong. for lifetime dates it is ok but not when when writing about when someonne is born. that is a major thing not just to be put in parathesis. so many of these article are not well written..they use bad grammar and punctuation. they are written like essays with too many commas. who the hell are you anyway?

How dare you accuse me of being rude, when I actually wasn't? Just because Wikipedia is considered a "free encyclopedia" doesn't mean it's appropriate to write articles the way the way you did, like "Michael Schenker was born..." instead of "Michael Schenker (born January 10, 1955)..." for example. Not only this pointless and/or fails to meet Wikipedia:MOS, but it's also considered a sign of less improvement. I'm also counting this as one of the reasons User:FMSky told you to "be more careful with your edits" a few days ago on your talk page. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 18:33, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are going to be reported over to an administrator (who will block you), if you don't stop misbehaving yourself, including using swear words or calling users names. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 18:43, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry--just got upset--will try to be more polite and productive in the future. thanks

Using two hyphens instead of commas as punctuation is not constructive editing. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 01:19, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Probecks, if you want to continue editing here, please don't make negative comments towards users. I don't care what you worked hard on, but calling me a "hateful individual" just because I constantly revert your changes as a result of your so-called "disruptive" editing is completely immature. User:FMSky and I are clearly sick of telling you how your edits are not improvements, especially when you end paragraphs with two dashes instead of a comma. If you violate Wikipedia:MOS one more time, I will once again report you to an admin. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 23:28, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't end paragraphs with two dashes instead of a comma. Two dashes are the appropriate punctuation to replace the overused comma. Commas should really only be used to separate different parts of a sentence not to join different parts. My editing is not disruptive. All it does it improve poor writing. You made me really angry and upset by your actions.
