Archiving talk page
[edit]Hi Princeton294, just an fyi, see WP:ARCHIVE for talk page archiving options. There are several methods, some you set up to do it automatically based on criteria you set. Personally, I use OneClickArchiver. :) S0091 (talk) 17:13, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Edit advice + Please write descriptive summaries
[edit]Hi Princeton294, thank you for your hard work building out the David Dobrik wikipedia page. It's clear you're dedicated to the subject and you've invested time in adding material. I wanted to share the following with you because I believe a few adjustments could improve the article moving forward, and improve the chances your hard work remains in the article.
I believe your edits on David Dobrik in particular could improve in two ways:
- First, it seems a number of your edits on this article are often closer to praise than to documentation of the subject. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information (WP:INDISCRIMINATE); let's try to keep the article focused on the main idea, without burying the content in data most readers won't need. For example, we don't need to know the specific viewership ratings of every mainstream TV show Dobrik has appeared on, nor do we need to list five other celebrities that won the same award or appeared on the same show as Dobrik.
- Second, per WP:FIES, each edit you make should have a summary. Many of your edits have no summary. When you do include a summary, almost every single one of them says only, "feel free to double check." Per WP:SUMMARYNO, this is basically as useless as providing no edit summary at all. Please write these summaries because it makes collaboration easier and Dobrik's page will be better for it in the long run!
At the end of the day, everyone wants a high-quality Wikipedia, which includes pages like Dobrik's. Anyone editors who may have different opinions about the inclusion of information are editing with good intentions! Please keep your contributions to a high standard because then everyone will want them on Wikipedia, and your edits won't just stay up because editors had a hard time finding them on the edit history.
Happy to discuss! —Shrinkydinks (talk) 22:58, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
