Your recent edits

[edit]

Thank you for the large amount of content you added in this edit. It is unusual for a new editor to add so much polished content like that. Did you write it yourself or copy paste it from somewhere? Also, could you provide the source for verification? Many thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:10, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Anna Frodesiak I copied the information from the Lingnan culture page (which was mostly written by me, by the way). Also, I do currently have plan to further expand the Lingnan architecture page. I am still gathering information for that.

As for source for verification, I thought I have already provided several citations? Prince-of-Canton (talk) 02:14, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much. I pasted chunks into Bing as a fast way to find out, but nothing showed up. Bing is not great. :) I'm in a place where Google is blocked. I also used a tool to search for that content, and it excluded Wikipedia content. My mistake for not digging deeper.
For future reference, you are permitted to copy paste content from one article to another provided that you state the source in the edit summary. For example, an appropriate edit summary would be: "copied content from [[article name]]; see that article's history for attribution"

Many thanks, and welcome to Wikipedia. If there is anything you ever need or have any questions, please ask. Thank you, and happy editing. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:20, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Bashu culture

[edit]

Hi, I'm SamHolt6. Prince-of-Canton, thanks for creating Bashu culture!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Stub. Such abroad topic preferably needs more sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

SamHolt6 (talk) 03:12, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@SamHolt6 Thanks. I just add two more sources, plus an external link that contains a dozen more articles about Bashu culture. Please see if this is okay. Prince-of-Canton (talk) 03:21, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well done on the page. I will remove tag.--SamHolt6 (talk) 03:24, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Bakilas (talk) 06:02, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Bakilas Noted. Sorry for causing the trouble. Prince-of-Canton (talk) 06:06, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No trouble, it's an easy mistake to make.Bakilas (talk) 06:07, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cantonese folktales requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://chinesefolktales.blogspot.com.au/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 331dot (talk) 09:54, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot I am so sorry. I have an email showing that the blog's owner approved of me copying the content to wikipedia. Should I show it to you? Prince-of-Canton (talk) 09:56, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See my answer on the article talk page. 331dot (talk) 09:57, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cantonese people, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mandarin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Negative Stereotypes of Cantonese people

[edit]

我自己是廣東人為中國人羞辱,可恥,恥辱。 I really wish you remove this extremely insulting and humiliating sentence. It is insulting not only to all Cantonese people but all Chinese people. I really don't understand how you can edit this shameful exaggerated claim, this is no different stereotyping Russian women are prostitutes, Muslim are all terrorists, Chinese people are barbaric. It's very insulting and humiliating to Cantonese/Chinese and people will think the stereotypes are true when they are only exaggerated stereotypes.

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Cantonese_people#Stereotypes <------------------------ 90% NEGATIVE AND INSULTING.

"would eat rats" (which may be related to Cantonese cuisine involving nearly all types of meats).[34] The males are thought to be small and weak, or lacking in sophistication due to Cantonese culture's traditional relative apathy towards Confucian thoughts.[35] <---- 你想世界人看不起中國人/廣東人?

It's basically insulting Cantonese people and including Chinese people ( I'm Cantonese and I feel extremely ashamed and disgusted for all Chinese people in the world). 基本上比非洲人和南印度人更垃圾猪狗不如.....如果我是中國人我寧願話比人聽我只是香港人。 Males though to be small and weak ? PLEASE remove this insulting exaggerated stereotypes. TheDako (talk) 03:56, 23 October

@TheDako Noted. I am sorry if you found that material offensive. I have already removed that part. Also, I would like to point out that I am a Cantonese myself and I had stated that those were "stereotypes" - and, by definition, stereotypes aren't true, but are exaggerated and distorted views that aren't meant to be taken seriously. Take this page as an example:

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Stereotypes_of_East_Asians_in_the_United_States

However, I am still deeply sorry for failing to consider that it may offend people. Prince-of-Canton (talk) 00:28, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
