Welcome

[edit]

Hello, PraopanKambhu and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.

Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Stuartyeates (talk) 21:19, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cult brands

[edit]

I reverted your edits before noticing that you were doing them as part of your coursework. Please ask your lecturer to read Wikipedia:Education program/Educators Wikipedia:School and university projects my mistake, the other one is US/Canada only: there are resources and advice available so that an assignment involving Wikipedia can be successful for the students, the academic, and also the encyclopedia and its volunteer editors.

I have reverted your changes to the article on Cult brand because they were unsourced, badly formatted, and too much of a "how to do it" article. Wikipedia is not an instruction manual. Please take time to study other articles in Wikipedia, see how content is formatted (bullet point lists are rarely used, subheadings can't be created just by putting a term on a separate line, etc), become familiar with the general tone of Wikipedia articles, etc.

Please use edit summaries when editing, to explain your changes.

You over-wrote the existing lead paragraph and added two new sections, taking no notice of the following text which was then left apparently part of the "Examples" section. Please ensure that your edits improve an existing article, rather than leaving it in a confusing state.

When you make an edit, please use "Preview" to see the effect. If it is not what you intended - the layout is completely wrong, etc - please either edit it further, or do not save the edit: don't leave the encyclopedia in a messy state. If you have saved an edit and then realise it was not successful, you can undo it yourself - click on "History", see your edit, click on "Undo". This is not a university lab or a trial database: it is an international encyclopedia. Please treat it with respect. There is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it is an interesting journey. Happy Editing. PamD 16:00, 23 October 2014 (UTC) amended 16:26, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
