Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit(s) because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 12:24, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Shivamevolution, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Request reason:

I feel sorry for my actions. I request to be unblocked. I believe in sincere contribution towards the cause and want to contribute in the manner that is acceptable to all and will abide by the policies and code of conduct. I do understand the reason behind the block. I was not aware of the fact that I can't use different accounts for editing on Wikipedia and made the mistake of doing so. I will never repeat this mistake.

Decline reason:

I spoke to the user on IRC where they claimed that they created the various accounts which were subsequently used jointly by several people. At the very best it seems these edits werea bald-faced lies. Apparently the user couldn't remember claiming to own the copyright of the Commons images they uploaded (all of which were deleted as copyright violations), but they explicitly repeated the claim that they owned the rights to the images, including photos of the Times of India (whose copyright the user rather obviously cannot own). In summary, I see no indication that the user understands or respects copyright, I seriously doubt their tale regarding the accounts' history, and I expect the same problems would recur if the user were unblocked. Thus I have to decline this request. Huon (talk) 00:18, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sir, I do accept my mistake in this regard and apologise for the mistakes that I made. Firstly, I used a picture that was already present on the internet and for which I did not own the copyright. This was a violation of the rules on Wikipedia. I failed to provide adequate amount of proof in order to prove that the pictures (other that the Times Of India one, which was a mistake) were actually mine and were used my me on the internet before being used on Wikipedia. Secondly, I made different accounts to work on Wikipedia because I was not aware of the fact that using different accounts is against the terms. This is a violation of the terms and I apologise for this. I did not know muck about the copyright and use of multiple accounts back in 2013 and made those mistakes. Now, I've evolved and I know much more that I knew in 2013. I a really sorry for all the inconvenience. No mistakes will be repeated. I will go through all the policies of Wikipedia once again before I start editing again and will keep in mind the lesson that I've learned. It is my sincere request to you for help. I want to contribute to the cause of building this encyclopaedia. If I am allowed to contribute to the cause, I would like to work on articles related to film, culture, geopolitics and journalism. I would contribute in accordance to the rules and policies of Wikipedia. Thank you.

Under the circumstances, a Standard Offer approach could be taken in this case. PhilKnight (talk) 19:57, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was blocked in September 2013 for all the right reasons.I feel sorry for my actions. I request to be unblocked. This account is marked as a sockpuppet. Make the unblock request on the master account, or explain why this account should be unblocked while the master remains blocked. In any case, you'll need to explain your understanding of copyright and why you chose to place the entire Wikipedia project in legal jeopardy by falsely claiming ownership of images. Note that I'm not saying we wouldn't consider an unblock. Given the time that has passed, we just need to be very sure that you won't repeat any of your previous behaviour, even accidentally.
