Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ppxdv. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:42, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ppxdv,
I just deleted your User page, at your request, that contained a notice about a possible COI you have with the company you are writing about. Removing the notice doesn't remove a conflict-of-interest. If you are still working for this company, I urge you to replace that COI notice on a new version of your User page. Deleting a page doesn't make the content invisible, administrators can still view it and it's better to be open and honest about yourself than try to hide any COI you might have.
If you have questions about COI, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:44, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
