"Don Cantwell" is not a character in the play of Gore Vidal's "The Best Man." He appears only in the 1964 film version. This film was made after the death of JFK, yet its parallels between between Cantwell and Kennedy are more explicit than in the play. This undermined the claim that Vidal backed away from the Kennedy comparison after the deaths of the Kennedy brothers. In the introduction to the published version of the play, and in the Twayne publications biography of Vidal, the unseen character of Governor Merwin is discussed as a potential JFK stand-in.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Quebec sovereignty movement, but we cannot accept original research. To what original research are you referring? As I recall I simply corrected an error of fact on the Quebec sovereignty page.

Thanks for your comment on my talk page. There has been a lengthy discussion about the whole Breedlove issue for a while. Please read both the most recent discussion and the extensive archived discussion before putting the name back. Then I suggest reopening the discussion on the talk page. You will see that I have already advocated for the same position you are stating, but we need to reach a new consensus before changing the article due to the history. Please go to the article's talk page Talk:Rochdale child sex abuse ring to explain why you think the content should be removed. Please do not remove it again until a discussion has taken place. 10mmsocket (talk) 22:50, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I told you why. Better question is why the article is permitted to downplay organized sexual assault with sophistry. Poupartca (talk) 03:09, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
