[edit]Dear Richard,
Could you help with [1] article ref your article the Volvo Ocean Race? Thanks for your cooperation. Regards.
PS. I was going to contribute to WK with other articles regarding sailing, yacht racing etc. But it seems VERY difficult to do that. Plus WK seems to be not interested in personalities.

Ratu Mara, Rhodes Scholar?
[edit]- Here is a source : XTRAMSN News Admittedly, there are inaccuracies in the story. I know their claim that Mara was the first Fijian Oxford graduate to be incorrect: Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna was. I realize that if one part of their information is wrong, something else may be too. But yes, this is a source. I have posted the same info. on the article's talk page. Please reply either there or on my own talk page.David Cannon 12:57, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Maori
[edit]Greetings, fellow-Kiwi. If you ever feel like a break from your splendid work on towers, beaches, and famous people, please have a look at the fledgling Maori Wikipedia - it may inspire something, even if only the desire to publicise it! Kind regards - Robin Patterson 01:24, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
NPC
[edit]Hiya! I see you corrected the heading of the "Past NPC Winners" table in National Provincial Championship from "Winner" to "Winner Division 1" - so I was wondering, you wouldn't by chance be able to find a table of previous lower divisions winners, would you?
Obviously the lower divisions have been rearranged several times since 1976.. (I intend to add a history section to the article soon).. but anything you've got would be welcome! —Stormie 04:23, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC)
- Wow, you are a champ!!! Congrats for tracking down those 2nd and 3rd division winners! One thing.. my History section was basically all paraphrased from the nzrugby.com history of the NPC ([2]) which I'm not 100% trusting of, since there were a few gaps and contradictions in there. But they say "(in 1985) a third division was introduced, split between islands in the same way", and then "The next year saw the third division united" (they never mention when the 2nd division was united). But the results you found have a split division 2 up to 1984, and then a single winner for each of div 2 and 3 from 1985 onwards. If you've got the solid goods on how exactly it worked, can you fix my History section? Cheers!! :-) —Stormie 23:38, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC)
Lloyd Trigg
[edit]Hello Richard. I see you moved Lloyd Alan Trigg to Lloyd Allan Trigg. Is there a site somewhere which gives an authoritative spelling of his second name? Incidentally, see [3] where his name is given as Allen. Cheers. Moriori 20:35, Jul 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Hi again Richard. Your response on my talk page is good enough for me. Allan, it is. Cheers. Moriori 23:11, Jul 7, 2004 (UTC)
Sorry
[edit]So sorry Richard (and New Zealand Wikipedians) for doing something that was not right. I did not see the link for "Notable New Zealanders" till now. Thank you for you time and consideration and cleaning it up. Our Hawaii Article has one on the front page of the article and then also a link. Hawaian Wikipedian Newbie.

commons
[edit]On commons.wikipedia.org the common repository for pictures has started and instead of copy all image to all languages, we can store them in one place. I have recently relocated to London and I'm therefore keen on translate London articles to German. I would like to use your photos eg Canary Wharf in the German wikipedia. Can I motivate you to transfer your photos into the commons repository? Otherwise I will do it. For sure you can describe and categories them better than I could. Mikegr 23:30, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Image:Surfing manu bay 400px.jpg
[edit]Hi! Thanks for uploading Image:Surfing manu bay 400px.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 20:05, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? See some model pages such as Cambodia!
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every country article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Shy1520 10:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Popsracer! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:
- Windsor Davies - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Sonia Waddell - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
