What, are you an edit summary nazi or something? --Kitch 21:04, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you like, your edits are more likely to be reverted as vandalism without them - they keep showing up as potential vandalism in VandalProof. They aren't too hard to do ya know - Glen TC (Stollery) 21:07, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't Grace Slick on Love Among the Cannibals? I'm pretty sure that she is. You have her leaving the group before the album was released. MCB 5/6/06

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Teamjapan2006.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 15:51, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Team Canada

I would oppose it. When someone thinks "Team Canada" most people think of the hockey team or another sports team, rarely wrestling. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 19:48, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hercule

[edit]

Why was he renamed to Mr. Satan? The dub (not the sub, though) and the English manga use that name. Why change it? WhisperToMe 20:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Simple: because of the uptight censors in North America, the name had to be changed to Hercule. His name in Japan is Mr. Satan, and ONLY Mr. Satan. In North America, his name is Hercule Satan. They use Hercule in the TV-air dub (the uncensored version of dub on DVDs refers to "Mr. Satan" as his in-ring name, though he is called "Hercule Satan" in the uncensored dub during the Saiyaman saga). --Kitch 21:31, 30 May 2006 (UTC)"[reply]

And what kind of explanation is that? The same argument could be used for Pokemon - and it would fail miserably. Zatch Bell!? Fail miserably too. This is the English Wikipedia and we prefer English names. Now, keep in mind that Wikipedia uses Son Goku, Kuririn, Boo, etc. because the English manga uses them. But with Hercule it's just about universal. "Censored" or not, Hercule is the most common name and should be used. WhisperToMe 22:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Hercule_%28Dragon_Ball%29&diff=15731537&oldid=14598169 is the edit in question. The article could have been moved at this point... WhisperToMe 00:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I remember now. I didn't move the article. I simply put Mr. Satan up front since that was the official name. I did not move the actual article, and still had Hercule Satan and Hercule highlighted in the first paragraph. --Kitch 01:11, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I see what happened :) - I'm unsure who moved the article. WhisperToMe 01:15, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Out of curiosity, why do you think that a link to that particular AFAP test is particularly relevant to the Little Boy article?

Thanks... Georgewilliamherbert 00:50, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not true. The Mark 8/11 and Mark 9 apparently weren't test fired, but the W33 was in Plumbob Laplace, Sept 8 1957, and Nougat Aardvark on May 12 1962. Georgewilliamherbert 02:58, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All the info pages for UK-G say it was Mark 9. --Kitch 04:16, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't paying enough attention. I can't find documentation of the W19 or W23 being tested. UK-G was a W9, PL and NA were W33s, plus Little Boy. Georgewilliamherbert 04:40, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nuclear copyrights

[edit]

Just wanted to leave a note that all images of U.S. nuclear tests were created by contractors working for the MED/AEC/DOE or the military and as such can be pretty safely assumed to be in the public domain. We have a nice library of them at Wikimedia Commons which you are encouraged to contribute to as well. :-) --Fastfission 01:34, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Planet of the Apes

[edit]

I recently read the book, after seeing the movies for many years. So my impression from the start was that they actually traveled in time not space. That the larger sun in the sky, and smaller moon, were a result of the passage of time (sun gets bigger and the moon spins out of orbit). Of course that kind of time frame (100's of millions of years) is longer than the one of the rise of the ape culture, but figured there may be a suspension of belief as a plot device. Also when they "return" to earth they are greeted by an ape, even if they had traveled to another planet, they did time travel. I have not read the later books which may explain it. -- Stbalbach 12:55, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well.. yeah, technically true, but there are also some "twists" to the story. I think at the end of the book the reader is left wondering if they ever actually traveled to Betelgeuse. -- Stbalbach 13:14, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Curt-schilling.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Curt-schilling.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Since you probably link to the page frequently in your Impact articles, I felt I should notify you that I have turned Team Canada (professional wrestling) into a dismabiguation page and that the TNA stable now has an article at Team Canada (TNA). Unspecified source for Image:Blueribbon.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Blueribbon.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Thanks for your update to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex artifacts on display category, however, I believe that some of your information is outdated. I don't know the current location of MR-1A. I've got photographs of the 12B on display that I took in October, 2006 if they would help. Fl295 02:13, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: BLAM!

[edit]

I've nominated the article BLAM! for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that BLAM! satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BLAM!. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of BLAM! during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.--CyberGhostface 02:00, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
