In this edit to Fabry–Pérot interferometer, you changed "figure to the right" to "figure above". Given that the relative positioning of the figures will vary depending on the screen size and whether one is viewing the page on a "regular" computer versus a mobile device, it is generally recommended that one adopt a relative-position-neutral means of referring to a specific figure. I've tried using figure numbers in articles such as Interferometry, but numbers are very tedious to apply and to keep up. We don't yet have any means of automatically maintaining figure numbers, unfortunately. I don't have any good solution to offer. I just wanted to commiserate with you on a rather unsatisfactory situation. Stigmatella aurantiaca (talk) 15:21, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
