Conflict of interest

[edit]

You declared a conflict of interest, what is the nature of it? 331dot (talk) 12:01, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am the CEO of Gaia Education Pojpedrosa (talk) 12:09, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As you are compensated for being the CEO, you must make the stricter paid editing disclosure, a Terms of Use requirement.
I will note that if you were to submit your draft now, it would be declined quickly. It is almost exclusively sourced to your company website. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves and what they do- that is considered promotional here. A Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Please read Your First Article. If you intend to proceed with this- which is inadvisable, but you may- you will need to radically change your approach, and first gather independent reliable sources that chose on their own to discuss your company and what they see as significant/important/influential about it. This should not include brief mentions, your own website, press releases, announcements of routine activities, and the like. 331dot (talk) 12:14, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will work on it, and put more external references. That is just a reference for now, before I publish it we will mainly use independent realiable sources.
About the sticker will also do that. Pojpedrosa (talk) 12:41, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for disclosing. My advice is that you essentially start over and blank your draft to start fresh, and first get the independent reliable sources, then summarize them, before adding any information from your company. 331dot (talk) 12:52, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would also highly advise you to read WP:BOSS. 331dot (talk) 12:53, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will add some things can be sourced to your company website, like number of employees, location, things about it- but that does not establish notability. 331dot (talk) 12:16, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

I removed the logo from the draft. You uploaded it to Commons and claimed it as your own personal work- this was improper. Company logos cannot be on Commons as Commons only hosts "free" images where the copyright is released to be compatible with Wikipedia(which means that it can be reused for any purpose, including commerical, with attribution). This means that you made the company logo available for anyone to use and sell as long as they say they got it from Wikipedia and your company would not be entitled to any money from the sale of its own logo. Company logos must be uploaded to this Wikipedia directly(see WP:UPIMAGE) and claimed as "fair use", not your own personal work.

Logos also cannot be in drafts(due to "fair use" limitations) until the draft is accepted and placed in the encyclopedia. Images are not relevant to the draft approval process anyway, which only considers the text and sources. You don't need to worry about the logo until the draft is accepted. 331dot (talk) 09:24, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh nice info... Thank you so much. Pojpedrosa (talk) 10:20, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
