Hi there MGM!
I have a problem: I am trying to create a wiki page for the french band Admiral's Arms (www.myspace.com/admiralsarms).
They are huge in France and are going to be signed very shortly (negociations are underway). They have played with many Wikipedia worth bands, and their manager has his own page which is thouroughly complete (search: daniel davison).
It is frustrating as they are a big band, and cannot get their own page. Could you pelase help?
Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahonda (talk • contribs) 15:04, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Why did you delete the page: Dipesh. It did not fall under the criteria for the reasons that you stated it should be banned for. It is injust and should be resolved
M Jennings06 (talk) 13:51, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi there MGM...
You chimed in on the initial AfD on [1] which dealt with the claim of being the first video blogger and excessive vandalism has brought it to the attention of the administrators, and it is up for deletion again. Since the initial AfD, I (the subject) was spotlighted on the GMA Network in the Philippines (links to video and webpage on the page) as well as been included in a book about video blogging (again, all links on the page). There have also been several more mentions online and radio interviews - and again, no one has disputed me being the first video blogger or even attempted a claim otherwise. However, the new AfD seems to again revolve around this claim. You had positive comments previously, and the events since the first AfD further cements your initial statements. I'd really appreciate you chiming in again as there are certainly differing opinions on what is deemed "verifiable" sources. One is actually using the argument that since the internet archives back in 2000 don't say "The Journey is the first video blog" that it can't be used as a source. The term video blog wasn't mainstream until 2004-2005, and certainly wasn't noteworthy until it became a movement. It doesn't make the first one any less notable. Anyway, please add in your two cents. There's more sources and proof on my claim then any page I can find involving blogs. Not sure why this is so hotly debated.
Thanks Adam4tvs (talk) 18:38, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello MGM - you emailed me that my page http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Simon_Rice was going in the right direction, but you didn't answer the crucial question, does it have sufficient references etc to prevent it being deleted? Hey McGwyver:
I found you in the Recent changes page, this page had a question mark, meaning that obviously no one had welcomes you yet. Youre only the second person in two years I get to welcome aboard. I myself was welcomed by Mav.
My main subjects here are boxing and airlines. But everyonce in a while, I wander off, such as when I wrote about Menudo or Arrowhead Water or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or anything else Im a fan of.
Thanks for your message, and God bless you!
Sincerely yours, Antonio Bolthead Martin
PS: checking your user page, I thought you'd be interested in List of teen idols, I originated the page, feel free to update it as needed.

It's good to see you editing again (well, one edit...). Survey on quality control policies
[edit]As part of a project funded by the European Commission (QLectives), we are collecting and analysing data to study quality control mechanisms and inclusion/deletion policies in Wikipedia. According to our records, you participated in a large number of AfD. We are currently soliciting editors with a long record of participation in AfD discussions to send us their feedback via a very informal survey.
The survey takes less than 5 minutes and is available at this URL. Should you have any questions about this project, feel free to get in touch.

ViiV Healthcare speedy deletion
[edit]An article I started on ViiV Healthcare was speedily deleted earlier today on the grounds that the company isn't suitably notable enough. It's a company with revenues of over $1bn [2] and the rights to many of the currently available HIV therapies. I can't believe that it can be considered to be un-notable? Could you possibly help me out with this? Wikipediatastic (talk) 16:46, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Founders College
[edit]Read this article in the Chronicle of Higher Education and was surprised Founders College with its curious short-lived history was not on Wikipedia. However, I see that it was deleted, according to its deletion log due to a lack of reliable sources. Do you think this source makes the now defunct college noteworthy again? Kristensson (talk) 23:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- The source definitely helps, but notability is usually established by multiple reliable sources (as this seems to be). You could try contacting the journalist to see if she dug anything up to add to the interviews. - Mgm|(talk) 20:15, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Rodney Morison is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rodney Morison (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

MGM- Since someone has placed an arbitary block on the content of the Macula Risk page, how can I start creating a temporary page? Are you suggesting I use another day of work to build it from scratch? Who can place the Macula Risk page in some kind of 'static' pen so that I can take a look at what I had previously written?
I did not save my work in some kind of seperate file precisely because of the fact that once I was done, I could see what I had written, and had access to the source code on the page?
Also, if someone who is part of some kind of science editorial sub-board in wiki-land can please explain to me what elements of description of a genetic test and the different genetic markers in that test are the offending issue, that would be very much appreciated
I do not understand this police-state approach where someone is telling me I have done something wrong, and then proceeds to provide me all kind of unhelpful information, instead of just saying 'if you do this, then there are no problems'? The content I provided is unbiased and contains only references from academic publication.

[edit]Hey there :). You're being contacted because you're an edit filter manager, At the moment, we're developing Version 5 of the Article Feedback Tool, which you may or may not have heard about. The Core Gamers
[edit]Hi, looking for a copy including ALL formatting and etc. etc. of the deleted page The Core Gamers. They are a national group that is in 3 sections of Canada; Vancouver Island, BC, Richmond, BC, and Greenwood, NS, however I guess I do not yet have enough outside references. I know that I have 19 Wing Comox BC that can be verified, and 14 Wing Greenwood, NS, and I have Comments about them in GottaCon's past and Dak-Kon's past as well that would; I would have thought; be enough references, however I don't have any newspaper articles or magazine articles about them yet. However it took me some 8 hours to do that entire write up and format it properly and get the references down properly so rather than have to start ALL OVER again I would greatly appreciate the original page with the formatting be emailed back to me if possible. If you could also tell me how I could keep the page about them up, I would greatly appreciate that as well.

The article Jack Moule has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Received via OTRS 2012121610007472 from the page subject - reason supplied - The page is out of date, there are no reliable sources to specifically provide the correct information, It has been vandalised in the past. Also outside of Wikipedia I have received some abuse and bullying for having it there. As I
have now moved on and to not compete so this is irrelevant to me now.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:14, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of page 'Besam Yousef'.
[edit]I saw that admins have deleted the Besam Yousef-page that I re-created, I didn't accually know that one other page about the subject had been up before. I understand that it was deleted due to the fact that there's already been a similar page up that also was deleted. So what should I do? There is an interest for a wiki-page about Besam Yousef, not just from my own part. Besam Yousef is currently fighting in the UFC and it would be nice to have a page linked when the name comes up in terms about results, record etc on other pages. And from what I'm concerned the page i wrote was legit, I don't know about the previous one but mine included all things other pages about MMA-fighters does, the facts were correct and I put in all the sources to the context. So tell me, what can I do to make this page stay available if I will create it again, if possible?
And I've understand that you could send me a copy of my deleted page, but I got backup on all of it.

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
[edit]Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. [edit]Hello, I see that you're a translator. A new translation tool has been implemented and is ready for usage. Could you please try it by translating any page with Internet Explorer, and then report here on bugzilla if you find something wrong? We don't have many Internet Explorer testers, so your help would be very valuable. I also think that you'll enjoy translating with this tool. Thank you very much, Nemo 09:11, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Contests
[edit]User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:31, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Mgm Paul L Kirk.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mgm Paul L Kirk.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 19:09, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Air Bud: Aussie Rules
[edit]I noticed that, about a decade ago, Air Bud: Aussie Rules was nominated for deletion, and that the final consensus was to have the article redirected to Air Bud. Given that no reliable sources have even alluded to the film being considered by the scriptwriters at all, it probably is best to have Air Bud: Aussie Rules listed at Redirects for Discussion. 76.126.49.152 (talk) 21:36, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
