Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Thumbsucker (film) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Thumbsucker (film) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://behavenetmovies.blogspot.com/2011/04/thumbsucker.html/, http://behavenetmovies.blogspot.com/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:36, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page The Snake Pit do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Mental illness in film. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with...https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Plyingfig/Ernest_Preston_Edwards

I have clicked "Submit Draft for Review" multiple times starting months ago, and nothing happens. I have also been unable to get a reference to display correctly. E P Edwards books also appear in Wikipedia. I could use help linking to them from the author page and perhaps adding his other books to Wikipedia.

Thanks

Plyingfig (talk) 18:32, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you can submit the draft manually by typing {{subst:submit}} at the top of the page. As for the references, what exactly do you mean by "will not display correctly"? Are you using the <ref></ref> tags? George Edward CTalkContributions 18:39, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The closing tag at the end of a reference is </ref>, not <ref />. Due to the incorrect tag parts of the draft, including the "submission" templates, were not displayed correctly (they were misinterpreted as parts of one big never-ending footnote). I have fixed that. However, the draft will not be accepted in its current state since the references do not suffice to establish Edwards' notability. This is more of a CV than an encyclopedia article, with the prose discussing Edwards' father, not Edwards himself. Huon (talk) 18:44, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The EPE page appears to meet criteria:

Academics[edit] Main page: Wikipedia:Notability (academics) Many scientists, researchers, philosophers and other scholars (collectively referred to as "academics" for convenience) are notably influential in the world of ideas without their biographies being the subject of secondary sources. Creative professionals[edit]

Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals: The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors.

EP Edwards was notably influential and his works are cited in Wikipedia.

Plyingfig (talk) 20:09, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia hardly counts as "peers or successors" of a scientist. Says WP:PROF: "Academics/professors meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources ..." - the scarcity of reliable independent sources was the issue here. "It is possible for an academic to be notable according to this standard, and yet not be an appropriate topic for coverage in Wikipedia because of a lack of reliable, independent sources on the subject." Huon (talk) 22:56, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Plyingfig. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Ernest Preston Edwards".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Plyingfig/Ernest Preston Edwards}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 19:02, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Phone Booth (film), you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. TornadoLGS (talk) 16:49, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What makes you say that link is "inappropriate" or "spamming?"
This is a film with substantial mental health content which is addressed on that page.
Links to imdb are just as "inappropriate", if not more so. Plyingfig (talk) 16:56, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You were persistently adding links to the same website to multiple Wikipedia pages, to it appeared that your intent was to promote that site. TornadoLGS (talk) 16:58, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Would you say the same about someone who persistently adding links to imdb???! Plyingfig (talk) 17:01, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
IMDB is a well-known website for aggregating movie information. Previous warnings you received seemed to suggest the link you were adding was to your own website. TornadoLGS (talk) 17:06, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
