Hello

[edit]

Got your message, thanks! I've been watching that new user who is adding all sorts of crap to SRK and Salman's page. Right now, I really want to work on Madhuri Dixit's article. Ever since I heard she's coming back to films I've been ecstatic, she's one of my favourite actresses. Im gonna try and get rid of the reds in her article. I went to Ajith's article. I don't really watch Tamil films but it looks good so far, may need some referencing and a bit of a clean up but that can be done. Just give me a shout if you need any help. Bye. -- Pa7 18:18, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lage Raho Munna Bhai production

[edit]

Hey, we desperately need some sources to fill in a production section and then we can submit it to WP:GAC and I think we should pass. I just need sources if you haven't got the time to fill things in, just a few sources and I'll manage. I think that after a thorough copyedit, it might be worth it to give it a peer review. Image:AamirKhan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AamirKhan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:25, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Plumcouch,

I've been a bad wiki-colleague by not replying to your message of two weeks ago. I would love to help you on that article, but ... I've spread myself too thin, again, and I'm started to feel frazzled and cranky. I've got 1000+ articles on my watchlist and I can't manage them all! It's not just Indian cinema stuff -- I'm involved in several disputes re Indian history, stuff in the Islam-related articles, clothing articles, and articles relating to Tonga and Hawai'i (where I have the actual academic background!). Plus it's Christmas and my daughter is here from college. I'm spending a lot of time cooking!

I hope that you're having happy holidays and that I haven't hurt your feelings by taking so long to reply. Zora 01:50, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vivah and LRMB articles

[edit]

A quick glance over both shows them looking good. However, in each case, I'd boil the synopsis down to half the size. If you've seen it, you don't need a detailed synopsis. If you haven't seen it, a long synopsis will bore or bewilder you, or both.

A searching glance into details of the plot is necessary if you're writing an essay on the film. But that's an evaluation; it's personal opinion; we can't do it here on WP. If we have to stay absolutely neutral, it's hard not to be boring.

I have been reading text on screen so long, and writing online so long, that I think I have a good sense of just how long people will read before they move on. I have the strong impression (which would need to be confirmed by some real-world studies) that short sentences and short paras are strongly preferred for online reading. This has bitten me on the butt in real-life too. I did some work on a chef's recently published cookbook, writing recipe headers and the like. They looked good to me on screen but when I saw the printed book, I thought my sentences looked too short and choppy.

Otherwise, very good job. Would that all film articles were that informative. It required some actual work and research. Most editors stick with just watching the film, and supplying a synopsis and material from the credits. That's better than nothing but ... not the best. Zora 20:06, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

You almost got it, the translation is "I found a groom". Nobleeagle [TALK] [C] 23:14, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dulha is groom, Dulhan is bride. If the movie's name were 'I found a bride' it would be Dulhan Mil Geyee. Nobleeagle [TALK] [C] 23:41, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Plumcouch, just giving you a heads-up - The Shilpa Shetty article could probably do with a spring-clean as she is reported to be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother 2007 soon. I've cleaned it already as best as I could, including references and stuff, but these thigns always need expansion. I'll be keeping a heads-up in the media also for reliable info to go in this article. Hope you're well. Ekantik talk 03:54, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So far the FAC for Lage Raho Munna Bhai has not bothered about the Production so there's actually a chance it will work out, I urge you to help me and Classicfilms take the article through FAC which really came as a surprise since I'd almost forgotten about the article. License tagging for Image:Namasteylondon poster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Namasteylondon poster.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Shah Rukh Khan. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. Missing Indian films

[edit]

I have started compiling the entire list of Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/List of films without article/List of missing Indian Films please help out. Other missing lists can be created by industry in India e,g List of missing Bollywood films etc. The lists are accessed from imdb and each one can be checked for notability or suitability for wikipedia levinga finely tuned list of missing films. Existing film articles should be removed from the list. Soo I will get around to compiling an entire list of Indian feature films ordered by year of release as you have done with the Bollywood films as with List of Argentine films etc. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 14:35, 20 January 2007 (UTC

Intervene with Ekantik

[edit]

I am butting heads hard with Ekantik in the Shilpa Shetty article. He wants to include a long para on her endorsement of a particular brand of vodka; I think that's advertising and want to remove it. He's livid and accuses me of vandalism. I put the matter up for discussion at the Village Pump (policy). If you can intervene fruitfully, please do. Zora 20:54, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. That was very level-headed. I'm not feeling level-headed right now. I shouldn't care so much. If, as the SF writer Theodore Sturgeon says, 90% of everything is crap, then 90% of the English WP's 1.5 million articles must be crap. Will be crap, no matter how hard I try. Better I should work on my own novels, where I'm completely in control. Zora 00:44, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem

[edit]

Hi Plumcouch, been long since we talked. Shez is back to editing and if you look at these [2], [3], [4] then personally I feel he is attacking me by calling me a hypocrite etc. For me its quite shocking because no one has said that to me since I've been on wikipedia. What do you think of this? Can I complain about his behaviour because to be honest I've been quite orderly with him and I don't think I can be bothered to talk to him about this. Need some advice. Thanks. -- Pa7 00:51, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more [5] 00:54, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I got your message. Firstly thank you for letting me know that I've got your support. Secondly, I have not replied to any of his messages because I don't see why I should have to reply to someone who is rude and has no respect when it comes to other people. Im taking your advice and will ignore him but if he carries on Im gonna be forced to ask for admin help. In a way, Im letting him carry on because that will give me more evidence to make sure something is done to sort him out. Im a bit angry because no-one has said that to me ever since I started on wikipedia and I have a right mind to go and say something to him but that would mean stooping to his level and I know Im better then that. Anywayz let him do and say what he needs to. Like you said it's just best to ignore him especially when we've got better things to do. I also wanted to ask you how do you keep track of how many edits you have done? Im sure I've hit the 4000 mark but I don't know how to check? Have you been following the Celebrity Big Brother controversy with Shilpa Shetty? Today's the live final and I really want her to win. Anywayz thanks again for your advice and support -- Pa7 18:18, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== People ==

[edit]

People, stop talking about me behind my back, I don't like this one bit. Confront me please but stop spreading news that I don't know how to talk. Pa_7 was the one who started it and now somehow, it's my fault. She was the one who changed the cast order for HDJPK. Witnessed it. Go in history even though we agreed on IMDB format which I don't like but I thought we had an agreement. If only we could use the cast as by film but no, you guys want to be ridiculous. But if you do, then do follow the imdb rule. Why didn't Pa_7 changed rani over preity when it came to that page but if i change the opposite on veer-zaara page, she wud've quickly responded. How clever? Is this not Preity favoritism or what? She added 30 references on that page in one day. 50 now. And if I add two on Rani, it's called favoritism. You guys are funny. Anyway, I have to report this one guy or girl User: 84.229.180.85 has been violating wikipedia rules and regulations. He or she has been adding to the Lux Filmfare Chart which was an old award. He/she believes, female actresses won two years because they were new, a Lux Award and a Debut Award, but mind me, I hav Filmfare '98 and Preity Zinta won a Debut Award, not a Lux Filmfare Award which was last given to Sonali Bendre. Maybe he's confused with the Lux Zee Cine Award. Anyway, just tell him/her he/she is wrong. I've tried. Thanks. -- shez 10:47, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice thought, but ...

[edit]

Plumcouch, it's sweet of you to think of me but ... I don't think any RfA (Request for Adminship) would go as smoothly as you think. There are numerous editors who hate my guts. Hindutva editors, Muslim and anti-Muslim editors, Iranian nationalist editors. In fact, just yesterday, one Iranian editor accused me of being a genoicidal Nazi and proposed having me banned from Wikipedia. An RfA would be three-ring circus, that's for sure!

Plus, I'm not sure that I have what it takes to be a good admin. I argue too much and lose my temper too easily.

You'd be a better admin than I would :) Zora 02:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I appreciate your eagerness to beef up Patel's filmography, but you're cutting and pasting from IMDb, which is a copyright violation. It's OK to take information from such sites, but not to copy their lists, complete with formatting, etc. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 08:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Varalaru

[edit]

Hey Plumcouch!

Re: Varalaru Article

Regarding the German Release, it definitely has been released there as I have seen several adverts on a bilingual channel which advertises the viewings in cinemas of Varalaru - but however I haven't got a Scooby-Doo about what rating it was.

Plumcouch, I see User:Pokkiri has adapted the template of my Jeans, the Prashanth, Aishwarya Rai starrer. Have you seen that film? Possibly we can finish it.
