ATH on US from PHL

[edit]

Hello. I see that you have added Athens as a destination for US Airways from Philadelphia. Could you provide a source or press release for this route? I could find one on usairways.com. Many Thanks! Bucs2004 23:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:0 b 0.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:0 b 0.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Rossrs 14:42, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do for Image:0 b 0.jpg? I stated a reason for it to be kept, but I dont know what else to do. Can I simply just scan the picture from the CD I own, and re-upload it? Planecrazy22 06:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, that would not help. The problem is not where you get the image from, but the copyright status of the image itself. The image is used in the article to identify a person and nothing more. There is no specific discussion of the image in the article and nothing to suggest that another image can't do the job equally well. Because the person is living it is possible that a free image could be obtained. It's not a question of whether such an image exists or is easy to get, just that it's possible and for that reason it fails criterion 1 of WP:FUC, ie it is replaceable. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo skybus.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo skybus.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MEGA Cosmos Canada

[edit]

Get your facts straight before posting, MEGA Cosmos Canada does indeed exist! This is a CANADIAN channel that contains programming from MEGA Cosmos and is owned by Ethnic Channels Group, a Canadian company. In Canada things operate differently due to the stringent regulations in place from the CRTC. This channel is licensed by the CRTC and was known as 'Greek TV1' when ECG received approval for a license. After signing a deal with Globestar, the rightsholders of MEGA Cosmos in North America, Ethnic Channels Group renamed the channel MEGA Cosmos and launched the service. While they do not actually refer to it as 'MEGA Cosmos Canada', this is the proper name since it is a Canadian channel and not the actual service from Greece. Here is a link to the CRTC decision granting approval to ECG to operate a Greek service: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/decisions/2006/db2006-347.htm. I hope that this issue has now been cleared up and the tag can be removed and the article remain as is. Thanks. HeMan5 03:20, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you have not read a single word I have written?! Let me see if I can explain this to you again- This channel is CANADIAN, Ethnic Channels Group applied for a license from the CRTC (Canadian regulatory body) and was approved and awarded a license to operate a CANADIAN ethnic service. This channel features programming from MEGA Cosmos and as per CRTC regulations also contains a certain percentage of local Canadian programming. As such this channel is NOT THE SAME as the channel available in the US and Australia and as a result should have its own seperate article. The only reason that Ethnic Channels Group has the website link for MEGA Channel in Greece is because they have no control over the programming that MEGA airs. They are directing you to MEGA Channels' website for information about the programming and contact info if you want to contact someone about their programming. Is this any clearer for you or do you still not understand the difference between the two channels??HeMan5 21:09, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Charts tables

[edit]

Please see the WP:CHARTS guideline pertaining to formatting charts tables. As the iTunes Store is only one retailer, it is not an official chart and should not be included. Your edits to Blackout (Britney Spears album) have been reverted. Thanks. - eo 19:46, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ToFiliTisZoisMoviePoster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ToFiliTisZoisMoviePoster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:43, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your Images

[edit]

Of course the images where deleted on Commons with the comment you mentioned, the bot only removed the images from Wikipedia to prevent red image links. The image File:RouvasMay2008.jpg which i deleted from Commons is cropped from a PhotoBuzz photo, http://www.starbuzz.gr/images/photos/index.html. The image File:PaparizouMontreal2005.jpg which i deleted was of course deleted in doubt, but after your wrong claims above im not willing to do anything here. I dont know why you

  • uploaded a copyrighted image consciously, as you declared on my talkpage,
  • leave it on Wikipedia without any notice a few months until then fortunately some voluntear saw the image and find, that it is a danger for Wikipedia because it is uploaded consciously under false claims
  • and than complain

thats unacceptable in my eyes. Please pay attention to copyright in future. --Martin H. (talk) 20:20, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The images are all taken with a Canon EOS 5d, a professional camera, and the date is differnent to the date you said. --Martin H. (talk) 21:25, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
