Ramsar sites

[edit]

I am a bit surprised that there are so many proposed Ramsar sites. There's hardly anything to find in English on such planned sites, and sadly I don't speak much Thai yet. But some references to the Thai sources would be fine... andy (talk) 17:54, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Vanilla aphylla from Trang.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sasikiran (talk) 18:03, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Commemoration of Charles Darwin

[edit]

Thanks for adding a list of named species and genuses to Commemoration of Charles Darwin, it 's a good start but I wonder if this might turn out as a rather long list: see Darwini and Darwinii for links to subpages listing a number of the species named after him. Worth thinking over. Anyway, Demandasaurus was apparently too new for anyone to have put it on the disambiguation page, so I've added it to D. darwini, a worthwhile update. Hi. When you recently edited Qinglongopterus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Qinglong County (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sirindhorna, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Khorat. Hello, Pkhun. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Nok (genus), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Ways to improve Nok (genus)

[edit]

Hi, I'm Nick Moyes. Pkhun, thanks for creating Nok (genus)!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I'm really sorry, but I don't believe this is a new Genus. To me, Nok looks like a Malay common name. The citations you've given don't assert this, and the content you've added so far doesn't reassure me. I'll return in a few days and see if you can demonstrate me wrong (which woud be great!) I only have access to the abstract - so perhaps you could put up a small quote from the full article on the Talk page to avoid someone AFD-ing this?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Nick Moyes (talk) 16:53, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - don't be disappointed that the page you started has just been redirected. That can be undone, assuming you can demonstrate that the genus Nok is actually legitimate. Obviously more than one of us has our doubts at the moment. I am not able to see the full reference, and we need evidence that it is a new genus that has been legitimately published. Any evidence you can provide will be crucial to that. If you cannot demonstrate that the genus name is valid, I feel the best option is to delete the page and its redirect entirely as it adds validity to a name that we don't even know exists. I'm guessing you have all that information - so please reply and help me understand your sources. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 21:00, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
