Maltzahn

[edit]

It's being removed because it isn't accurate, and because it was a laughable attempt to sanitise an election candidate's biography of what her campaign has clearly decided is its most controversial aspect in the middle of an election campaign. The vast majority of Maltzahn's career has been as an anti-sex work campaigner: it's the sole focus of the notable organisation she founded, it's the subject on which she's a published author and the overwhelming subject of her public advocacy when she's not trying to downplay it in the middle of an election campaign in which that might not work in her favour electorally.

That, while being a preselected candidate in the last year or so, she decided to go and do something less controversial professionally warrants mentioning in the article somewhere, but it's not in any sense what she's notable for and it certainly doesn't belong in the lead sentence or two. Failed candidates don't usually have Wikipedia articles, and if Maltzahn actually was solely notable otherwise for being the CEO of a women's health service she wouldn't have one either - she's notable enough for an article in the first place because she's one of the most prominent anti-sex work activists in the country.
