Speedy deletion nomination of Moto Guzzi Breva 750 motorcycle
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Moto Guzzi Breva 750 motorcycle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi the article relates to a very important motorcycle produced by a very important motorcycle manufacturer. I created it as a stub for later development. Any good encyclopaedia should contain this insertion alongside the dozens of others dealing with Honda, Triumph, Norton manufacturers and machines; will you be deleting all of these then? I cannot find the 'appeal deletion tag or button. thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pjh009 (talk • contribs) 11:34, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- I have moved this down, because new contributions should go at the bottom of talk pages, to keep the conversation in order.
- I have moved your page to Draft:Moto Guzzi Breva 750 motorcycle where you can work on it. It isn't ready for the main encyclopedia yet. It's not enough to say that it's a very important motorcycle - you have to explain in the article why it's important. Wikipedia does not aim to be a "list of everything": it has a test for inclusion called Wikipedia:Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Youtube, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also Wikipedia:Notability (summary).
- Read WP:Your first article for advice, and look at some other motorcycle articles to see how they are done. Wikipedia:WikiProject Motorcycling is a group of users interested in motorcycle articles, and you can probably find help and advice there. There is a useful section headed "Guidelines" on their project page.
- When the draft is ready, clicking the blue "Submit" button will send it for review by an experienced user, who will either accept it or give you feedback. JohnCD (talk) 15:06, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
