[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Jim Flynn (academic), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. At the very least, before you move an article, have a look on its talk page and see whether there has been any previous discussion about the article name. Had you done this, you would have realised that moving the page without prior discussion is inappropriate. Schwede66 00:00, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Schwede66, I totally disagree with the choice of the nickname "Jim" ;-) for the title of the English Page, and I gave my opinion on Talk:Jim Flynn (academic), best regards, --Pierrette13 (talk) 07:39, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Margarete Hilferding, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Austrian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have some more additions to make in terms of references for the medals where known from each page, gradually - do hope this will be helpful for people wanting to know where these important medals are now (all over the world in families, museums and auctioned for private sales)! Henry Dillon, 13th Viscount Dillon
[edit]Dear Pierrette13. Thanks you very much for correcting the birth date of Henrietta Stanley, Baroness Stanley of Alderley on her father's article, Henry Dillon, 13th Viscount Dillon. I see that her article says 21 December 1807 and cites Morgan's book. Morgan is probably right and 1808 was probably wrong, but you may not have seen that her father's article has a citation from John Debrett at the end of the line that substantiates the "wrong" birth date. Your edit therefore created a contradiction between the text and the citation. Another editor might come along, see this, and correct the birth date back to 1808. I am not so sure how this is handled correctly. I decided to add an explanatory footnote {{Efn}}, which informs the reader about the contradiction and cites both sources. Please have a look. There certainly is room for improvement, with regard to this Efn and also with regard to the citation in Henrietta's article where the source (Morgan) is a bare URL. You might improve this citation using the {{Cite book}} for Morgan's book that I added to the list of sources in her father's article. I suspect you speak French and might be interested in the book "Journal d'une femme de cinquante ans" cited in that article. With thanks and best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 10:53, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Johannes Schade, thank you for your message. I translated Henrietta Stanley, Baroness Stanley of Alderley into French and had a look at this page. The ODNB says that she was born in Halifax, 21 December 1807 [2]. What is more surprising is the statement that she was born in Halifax [3]. Why was she born there... Have a nice day, --Pierrette13 (talk) 13:17, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Dear Pierrette13. But we know quite well why. Her father owned the British 101st Regiment of Foot (Duke of York's Irish), which was ordered to Nova Scotia [4]. Best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 07:34, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
