An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Sweyn Coinsgraphic.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nevis Amory.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nevis Amory.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 22:52, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned public domain images
The following images were uploaded by you, but are currently not in use. They have been tagged as public domain (PD), either as PD-self or other PD claim, or equivilant. These unused PD images may be subject to deletion as orphans. You may wish to add them to an article, tag them for copying to WP commons {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} or if they are no longer needed, they can be nominated for deletion by following the easy three step process at Images and media for deletion. If you have any questions, please leave me a note on my talk page. --Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 22:54, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Plus a large number of images on User:Pia L/sandbox which are only used there.
- Further to your note on my talk page, Commons is actually not just for english wikipedia, it is available to all the projects. Commons only accepts images that are public domain or licensed under GFDL. Images there are not at risk of being deleted simply because they are orphaned. Unlike commons, any images on English WP that are not used are subject to deletion as orphans.--Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 16:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Re:About NE
Hi! It would be great if the article could contain NE's definition, even if it's not a direct quote. Thanks for looking into it. /Jiiimbooh 15:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Nevis West Indies
Hello Pia, yes I am the guy who kept changing my link on the Tourism section of Nevis. I am sorry I really did not understand how Wikepedia worked. For years I had a link that read
Nevis1 - The "Non-Tourist-Trap" Guide To Nevis, West Indies. Then somebody changed the description. I did not realize that it was an administrator changing the link. I just thought somebody was fooling around with the link, so I kept changing it back. Unfortunately I did not notice the spam warning until it was too late. I did stop changing the link then, but alas I think it was too late.
I found your post to ohnoitsjamie very interesting, and you touched on some good points, however I really do feel that my site should be listed in the Nevis Wiki. You mention that I have villas that people pay to list, yest that is true, but it pays for my time and my server costs. Geographia also charges to be on their site and their information is wasy out of date. You also mention adense, but geographia also has adsense.
I started my site back in 1996 with 5 pages and have continued to keep fresh content on my site. The official government site may list the restaurants, but I have photos, and menus as well. I also provide a more "real feel" about Nevis than the government site and have literally thousands of thank you emails from people who say how they love my site. I also take the time to respond to every email with questions about Nevis and many times call the people at my own expense to help them out with their holiday plans.
At any rate, I do apologize, and promise not to change the description if you will reconsider my site for inclusion....I do however love the bit about The "Non-Tourist-Trap" guide to Nevis I chose that title as I wanted to show visitors to Nevis all of Nevis, not just the glitzy places on Nevis as the official site does.
Thanks for your consideration and please feel free to discuss this with ohnoitsjamie.

Happy new year
Happy new year Pia, and thanks for your kind words. Don't worry, I greatly appreciate that you give priority to Real Life. Wikipedia may be larger than ever, but it is has turned sour. Still, I am happy to see you around :-).--Berig 14:48, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi
Hi. I'm glad your still active on Wikipedia. I'm still planning on making something useful of the WikiProject Sweden, to let you know. It just needs some activity, and I've had other things to do...
What do you think about bringing Scania at least to WP:GA status? It should be doable, don't you think?

On two women in 11th century Sweden
Dear Pia, if you are interested in a dramatic Norse saga on two women in 11th century Sweden, there is something as unusual as a completely historic one told on a series of runestones: Ekerö Runestone, Färentuna Runestones, Snåttsta Runestones, Broby bro Runestones, Harg Runestones and Uppland Rune Inscriptions 101, 143 and 147. The story has a continuation in the famous Jarlabanke Runestones, but I have not written that article yet ;).--Berig 00:10, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Pia! I am happy you like them. I am thinking of writing two articles on Gerlög and Estrid. The stories of these Viking Age women deserve to be made more accessible in English.--Berig 11:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Have a great time skiing. Take care,--Berig 14:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Skåne 2
Yes, I think the history section is too brief, and further that the article needs more inline citations (see e.g. Wikipedia:inline citations and Wikipedia:References). The sections on culture and geography are probably the most crucial to add references to.
Fred-Chess 23:19, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Your suggestions are probably good. Just make sure not too add too much details about Scanian fabric to the main article Scania. It appears to be a rather thin area (smalt område). For GA status, it isn't so important to mention everything; it is more important not to ommitt something of note.
- Of course, it isn't wrong to add a lot of material, and then gradually work to shorten it down, and moving it to a separate subarticle.
- Ok these were only suggestions. You probably know best what you do. Fred-Chess 21:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I hope that Pia does not mind that I post a little comment here. Please, let Pia write about Scanian textiles first. Then if the section is too large, you can discuss whether it should be shortened. What is important and notable is usually subjective and Scanian textiles may be worthy of a large section. There is no reason to try to discourage her from expanding that part substantially before she has begun to write.--Berig 21:50, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ok Berig. You have your idea of how encyclopediac article should look and I have mine. And I will continue with my suggestions. Besides, why are you always misunderstanding me? I clearly said "Of course, it isn't wrong to add a lot of material, and then gradually work to shorten it down, and moving it to a separate subarticle." Is there are reason why I should talk to you again, when you
continuoslymisrepresent my statements? Are you doing this intentionally or unintentionally? / Fred-Chess 21:57, 14 January 2007 (UTC)- I was just surprised that you caution her about writing too much before she even has started. It is likely that you and I think differently Fred, but neither you nor I are probably experts on the notability of Scanian textiles, and it is likely that Pia knows much more about whether it should be written about in length or not. IMHO, let her write about something that interests her first, then comment on shortening it.--Berig 22:16, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

You rock too!
Thanks dear Pia for your beautiful words about my contributions and for you beautiful award. It is for people like you that I still remain. You rock too, Pia.--Berig 07:05, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
The Scanian coat of arms
Dear Pia, I have added an award on your userpage. I have been thinking about giving you an award for several months now and why not now? The work you are doing on Scanian castles at the moment is one of several contributions that show what a great asset you are to WP. I have taken the liberty of moving Fred-Chess' award there too (I hope you don't mind).--Berig 09:48, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you Berig! Wow, that's a really nice-looking award. I'm so happy now--definitely time to get off-line to celebrate....oops it's 3:30 am. Again. I'm so glad you are around because this Wikipedia thing will be the end of my reality social life, if I keep it up. Got to log off for the weekend now, for sure. :) Pia 11:29, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Have a great weekend in Reality and I hope to see you around again soon :).--Berig 20:26, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Scania, needs to be
Hi. I've been looking at the article. My "professional" opinion is that
- it prose would benefit from being brushed up.
- enthusiastically written as it is, I am not confident of the NPOV. For example there isn't any negative at all eventhough we know that many Swedes have a negative view on Skåningar. Another example, the sentence " Unfortunately, few of the original Göinge farms remain today. "
- The lead section should be longer, per WP:LEAD
The last point should be the easiest to work with. The other points probably require assistance from other people.
If you want to work with the lead a little, then you can list it as a GA candidate.
