Hello, Phuongdong0701, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Moving pages

[edit]

Hello, Phuongdong0701,

Please stop moving pages around. You are causing disruption that other editors must clean up. Keep any drafts you are working on in Draftspace or your user space (Sandbox), do not move them repeatedly around. Liz Read! Talk! 00:15, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you retrieve the articles that I wrote because I do not have a copy of that?. I will take into account of this - I do not have experience with this before; thanks!!

Response

[edit]

Hi! I wanted to explain why the page was deleted. The main reason is that this duplicated an existing article on the performer, Stephen Chow. When it comes to editing existing articles, any changes need to be added slowly to the live article bit by bit - moving a duplicate article live doesn't really do anything and will just result in the duplicate getting deleted in the majority of instances.

Aside from that, I do have some notes about the content in the draft:

  • There's a section entitled "some notable movies". This poses several issues. For one, it's an issue of neutrality and original research since it can be seen as us making a personal judgement on what would be notable or should be covered in a section like this. Another issue is that it any coverage of his career should go into the career section. If the involvement in the films has received enough coverage to mention in the article beyond just listing in the filmography section, it should be in the career section. Finally, more detailed information about the films' successes should be in the respective articles for those films.
  • There is some wording that poses some issues with neutrality. These are mostly things that wouldn't seem like an issue outside of Wikipedia but on Wikipedia can come across as subjective or non-neutral. For example, the term well-known is seen as subjective since what's well-known to one may not be to the next person, as the term implies that it's very widely known. It's preferred to use the term known, since this doesn't have that implication that the claim would be very widely known. This is something that you wouldn't have really known, so no worries on this - it's just something to watch out for in the future.

As far as the page goes, I can send a copy to your instructor but I can't actually restore it myself - only the deleting admin should. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:42, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Shalor (Wiki Ed): Thank you Ms. Shalor for pointing out the things and issues for me in the article!!! I really appreciate. Could you send a copy to my instructor just in case. I am currently contacting the deleting admin to restore it to my userspace so that I could improve things.
