No right!

[edit]

You have absolutely NO right to remove content from other people's userpages (like Skittle2's page). If you have a problem with someone's page, then ask them on their talk page to remove it. If you want a page deleted, follow the steps outlined in WP:Afd. Thank you. -Billy227, Review my account!! talk contribs sndbx usbx 23:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm...

[edit]

You seem to not be new... your edits are that of a fairly experienced (except for the userpage stuff (see above). That's suspicious... WHO ARE YOU A SOCK PUPPET OF?!?! -Billy227, Review my account!! talk contribs sndbx usbx 23:09, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, thats funny. Don't worry about it, he was just quoting someone who replied on my talk page. Probably just a joke. Ahahaha, it's me, Rahk_EX 21:10, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is Billy227 a bot made by you? PhishRCool 21:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, he's just a friend of mine. He does have a joke on his userpage, pretending to be a bot. No, he has quite a few views I don't agree with, but what can I do, right? Ahahaha, it's me, Rahk_EX 22:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And another thing...

[edit]

If you accuse others of putting offensive content on their userpage you shouldn't either. You call people stupid on your page, do you not? Please remove that text. Thank you! -Billy227, Review my account!! talk contribs sndbx usbx 23:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, you are entirely correct. I am sorry and I would like to thank you for your alert. By the way, I am new (my account is less than a week old), I just have done several edits. Once again, thanks for calling me on this. However, the thing about stupid on mine is a joke that in my view is not openly offensive (unlike Skittle2's remark, which really just is there for no reason). I do realize now, however, that simply deleting it was not the thing to do. I will make sure to bring it up on a talk page in the future. PhishRCool 13:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm afraid Billy227 cannot say that. You're allowed to put what you want on your userspace. If he wants to remove it, he has to report it for deletion. If you want to remove it, you have to report it for deletion as well. By the way, I'm new here as well, now six days since my coming. Billy227 has been here for a few months now, but not much either. We're all pretty much in the same boat, just make yourself sound smart by abiding by the following two guidelines. Don't be a dick, and don't give a fuck. As long as we abide by this, and use large words, we will be respected. I think. Cheers! Ahahaha, it's me, Rahk_EX 23:00, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Umm...Why are there pages with those titles? That's really odd... But thanks, that's what I was saying (kinda). PhishRCool 14:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Those are policy pages. They tell everyone how to use Wikipedia nicely. Those are just two of the many pages. And yes, some of these pages have "interesting" names (another one is Don't be a pussy). -Billy227, Review my account!! talk contribs sndbx usbx 19:52, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ananthabhadram needs copy edit

[edit]

Please, could you take a look at the article Ananthabhadram? It needs quite some copy editing job. In case you are interested, do not begin before 10 June. I am making some improvements to the article. I hope to get the article to a GA status and eventually to an FA status. Aditya Kabir 08:24, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Umm, just so you know, I can't say I've ever heard of basically anything in that article, so I can only try to fix grammar and stuff like that. If that's OK, then sure. PhishRCool Talk Contribs Desk 14:17, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My sandbox

[edit]

Recently, I noted that you created a subpage on my userpage (User:Billy227/Sandbox), which I had previously deleted. Why did you do this? Also, your edit summary was "Hi!!!!!". I'd suggest that you improve your edit summaries in the future. And finally, why did you make it redirect to your sandbox? Thanks! -Billy227 13:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to mess around. The page had been deleted anyway, so I figured no harm done since I made it point to a sandbox. If you want, you can delete the redirect and make the page back into your sandbox (or just delete the page again). BTW, why'd you delete it before? Also, the edit summary was just for fun, too. I normally have good ones (at least for real articles). PhishRCool Talk / Contribs / Desk 23:53, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Sale, Greater Manchester article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Thank you very much, if you can. Epbr123 07:37, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum

[edit]

Hi PhishRCool,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:
