Sorry about that. I was going to remove the speedy tag and must have deleted it by mistake. I would suggest that you give it a better title though as the one you have is very strange. I would suggest Rowland Company, William Rowland & Co. or Rowland & Company with redirects from Rowland Shovel Works, Rowland Saw Works and William & Harvey Rowland. Some of this material seems to be copied directly from: http://www.rowland2.com/products/history.htm This is a copyright violation.

Columbus Statue

[edit]

I researched by talking to the son of Dr DiDio. He provided me news clippings that were my sources. What is the source for artist?? and that it may be the first statue???......Would you have information on Marconi statue?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pretzelfactory (talkcontribs) 15:20, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Information on statues anywhere in Philadelphia, supposing that is where they are, is available from the Fairmount Park Art Association.

PECO Utility Tunnel

[edit]

Talk:List of crossings of the Schuylkill River describes my addition of the PECO Utility Tunnel to the list of crossings. Note the subway tunnel just upstream. My coordinates are somewhat of a guess, one second of longitude east, one second of latitude north of the Arsenal Bridge. --DThomsen8 (talk) 17:24, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Society Hill Philadelphia Mini-Meetup

[edit]

Perhaps you could join us on Saturday for the Society Hill Philadelphia Mini-Meetup. See the Philadelphia project talk page. --DThomsen8 (talk) 01:29, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I missed your invitation...

The article Young & Sons has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:56, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Phillyguy. I suspect that you may want to add to this article. Specifically, I'm looking for a source (PMA?) for John Smart as the carpenter. Best, BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 12:54, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

PECO tunnel

[edit]

Great information about the PECO tunnel, but can you provide a source? Also great early example of "hardening" by a utility. --Dthomsen8 (talk) 12:18, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alas, it was a newspaper article that I accessed through newspapers.com. It was out in 1948, in the Philadelphia Inquirer, as I recall. But I just don't have the time to look for it again. I do recall it had at least one picture of men working inside the tunnel.

Thank you, that is enough to look for the article in the Inquirer or in the morgue of The Bulletin at Temple. If I find articles, they will become references for a new Wikipedia article, PECO utility tunnel.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 21:33, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
