Deletion of page Afends - comment on nominator not following process
[edit]Good morning. It's somewhat of a moot point now, since the page Afends has been deleted, but the nominator for speedy deletion appears to have abused the deletion process. This nominator first used PROD, which I deleted with comment. He then reverted my deletion of PROD. After I again reverted that action, he used speedy delete instead to try to get the article deleted. The article isn't even my issue at this point - it's not very good at all and likely would have been deleted at AfD, but I thought it should have a discussion, which should have been what would have happened if procedure had been followed. I can easily see where you would have missed that back-and-forth, but I still wanted to bring this to your attention, as at this point it seems that poor deletion behavior by the nominator was not caught and acted upon. Thank you.--Concertmusic (talk) 13:27, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- The Speedy Deletion process and the PROD process are connected, but not exclusive-or! However, having reviewed it, I have restored it. Normally, I would happily count it as a Speedy Deletion candidate, but will allow this to be AFD'd instead. If it comes up for Speedy Deletion again, it may still be deleted instantly, per the guidelines. PhantomSteve/talk¦contribs\ 15:34, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- I have zero stake in the article itself - I was really just objecting to what I perceived as misuse of the process. If there is no issue, please feel free to do what you think is best. I appreciate your review.--Concertmusic (talk) 15:38, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
AfD is impossible!
[edit]The reason why I prodded and speedied Afends is because I can't do an AfD! IP's can't! Come on. Ridiculous reason to reject the application! Re-delete it please! 2001:8003:5022:5E01:2070:8B81:A0F9:DC9D (talk) 22:48, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- As the above editor has no issues with the deletion per se, and as you say you can't create an AfD, then I will delete it - however, you might want to consider creating a user account as it gives useful benefits. PhantomSteve/talk¦contribs\ 16:33, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
