Pruritus ani

[edit]

I have been suffering from this embarrassing ailment for most of my life, and I also do respect that fact that Wiki should not be used for medical advice. In checking this article I believe it was you that recommended the use of toilet paper à la ass tampon style. All I can say is you sir, are a life saver. All of the doctors I have spoken to about this over the years have had no useful advice, and nothing along the lines of a simple home remedy that you suggested, maybe accept for the use of cortizone ointments which is temporary at best. One doctor suggested I even have a hemorrhoid operation, even though he knows I do not have hemorrhoids (goes to show you what their agenda is). Of course this layman treatment may not work for everybody, but until there is a more permanent way of treating Pruritus ani, this is the best thing out there. I will periodically be checking in with that article for any updates. And no this is not joke post or sarcasm, and yes it is probably a bit stupid to post a thanks for something like this, but I just wanted you to know that your contribution to that article is appreciated.--Roland G.

Delighted to hear - I found this way the best especially after a bath or a shower, and am glad it worked for you too! - Peter K

Wikipedia is not a cookbook. Perhaps you would like to contribute at Wikibooks Cookbook. Fan-1967 23:13, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that Fan-1967 is correct. Please see our policy here which explicitly says: "While Wikipedia has descriptions of people, places, and things, Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice (legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes" (emphasis added). Thanks, Gwernol 23:26, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He may be right, but it's still pedantic and above all inconsistent. Try looking up "First Aid" But OK, I won't do it again. Sleep well.

Cannobio

[edit]

I've removed your recent edits to Cannobio, because Wikipedia is not a travel site: All additions have to be referenced, avoid original research, and be written in the tone expected of an encyclopedia. Thanks. yandman 08:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Cannobio. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. P.B. Pilhet / Talk 20:24, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete content from articles on Wikipedia, as you did to Cannobio. It may be considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Also, your posting to Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down#January_2007 was not in the spirit of that page.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 14:53, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you for real ???

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 13:59, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
