Hi
Please participate in this GAR. I have copy-edited the article and need to know if it is now of GA standard. Thanks. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 14:27, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
My feelings
Well both happy and sad. Happy because i think every woman should become a mother before the age of 30 and well i am sure King B is very happy. Sad because, i won't see her shaking her bootylicious body for at least one year. No tour, no promo for the album, i wonder what will happen to the latter. And what about you? Well i know you are not a big fan but still how do you feel? Jivesh • Talk2Me 16:52, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- That's not true Jivesh! I am a big fan. I'm just not crazy about her husband, new album or new look. That's all :) Hmmm, well I suspected this. That is why she filmed the music videos ahead of time. I suspected for a while now. Thing is, I figure she knows that the album kind of bombed and didn't produce any popular singles, so I figure she knew she wasn't going to tour for this album. My bet is she'll come back in around 1.5 years, maybe 2 with a new album, and tour as well.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 16:56, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well i think you are partly wrong here. She has filmed videos for all songs. She has also pre-recorded a UK-special, another one for France and another one for the US. All will air before Christmas. Nathan. to be totally frank, RTW is not a flop. It is a flop by Beyonce's standards. Radio refused to play that. It did quite well on iTunes. A flop single does not sell 700,000+ copies in the US though it charted for only 12 weeks on the Hot 100. And BTINH, i curse pop radio for dumping the song. Pop radio plays generic songs too much. It currently has 50 million AI, 22 million from Urban, 20 million AI from Rhythmic and 2 million AI UAC and around 8 million AI from Pop. Nathan, do you even feel any good about "Give Me Everything", "Party Rock Anthem" and company. "Last Friday Night" is so good, yet its airplay is dropping like a stone falling in vacuum. Coming to the album, an album which is released mid-year with no popular singles, having sold 1.35 million copies in 9 weeks in my opinion is good. 4 might not end up selling 7 million ++ copies like other B albums but it remains her most critically acclaimed effort. By the way, why did you mention Jay-Z? I also hate him. Didn't you know that King B is Beyonce herself? Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:07, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
P.S Can you imaging the baby is born on the 4th of the fourth month (April)? Lol. If it's a baby girl, we should pray she marries Mimi's son. Lol. Jivesh • Talk2Me
- RTW and BTINH both top the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart. But the problem with RTW, is that it is very European, as we know, American's don't quite get that style of music (Kelly Rowland has been doing it to no success, and David Guetta has worked with just about every US act practically, yet he still doesn't do well there). Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:13, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Actually they do Calvin. If they did not, "Mr Saxobeat" would not be doing well on both iTunes and radio there without any promo. Same for "Stereo Love" (last year). America has changed. They do not appreciate true music. They prefer collaborations with lyrics about sex, bullshit and yes video, in which you partly exposed yourself but again, that should be paired with lyrics that will increase your level of adrenaline. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:19, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Mr Saxobeat is 44 on the Hot 100. But David Guetta has really good songs that are always played in UK clubs and bars, yet he doesn't really get recognition. Not even Rihanna could get him into the top 50 on the Hot 100.Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:23, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

- Lol. I'm going to post each idea in a separate point, so we don't get confused :)
- Well, why do you think she recorded the videos early? Because she knew she would be pregnant. I also think the "Love on Top" performance last night was very fierce :) Her vocals were awesome!
- @Calvin; That's not the issue. Look at Rihanna; all of her recent singles are very European, and they do well everywhere.
- Yes Jivesh, for Beyonce's lead single, it did very poorly. Even Mariah's "Obsessed", that was performed only once on live TV at the time of its release, managed to peak at #7.
- As for "PRA", I hate that song so much. Crap of the crap. I like Katy's song a lot, but remember Jivesh, it is already the fifth single from the album, so its not going to be as big as the first. Its amazing the song even got to #1 without any live promo!
- Lol. I Hate Jay-Z, he's an ugly racist bigot. Wait, B is King B? Lol I didn't know that. How come?--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 17:20, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Nathan sorry for asking this but i really do not have any idea about this. Do you mean that a woman can feel that she is going to be pregnant in the near future? King B is Beyonce. Lol. I knew you thought King B was Jay-Z. That's why you brought up that bloody racist. See the single cover of BTINH. You will understand everything. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:24, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Calvin, there is something you need to understand. David Guetta (i like some of his songs) does not do well in the US because he does not do well on radio. He still does well on iTunes. He must have sold at least 1 million ++ records in the US. And "Mr Saxobeat" is really climbing. I think it has been on the chart for four weeks only. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:27, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Calvin, you are form the UK, right? It seems BTINH is number one on UK Airplay Chart. Can i have a link please? And it has also been rumored here and there that she received an awards for 30,000+ spins. Is there any reliable source? Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:30, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I saw it lol. But I still don't get it. She writes "King B" on the mirror. How do you know she is referring to herself? Yes well, women usually plan a pregnancy. Up until this point, she was probably on some sort of birth control, and now that she was ready to "settle down", decided to let things go naturally. And yes Jivesh, after a woman misses her first menstrual cycle, she knows she is pregnant. Just BTW, Beyonce is probably around 3 months or so along the way, she has known for a while already. The bump means she is easily 3.5 months along. And also, David Guetta actually does very well here. His stuff is very popular and always on the radio (except for the Kelly song) Even though that didn't do well on the charts, its still popular.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 17:31, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) David Guetta's last album peaked at #70 on the Billboard Top 200. Sexy Bitch went 2x Platinum and peaked at #3, Club Can't Handle Me went Platinum and Where Them Girls At went Gold and went Gold. Apart from that, he's had no success, but across the world, he has had loads of #1s. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:34, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- We don't have a chart listing the Airplay Charts like America. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:37, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- It does not matter Calvin. Thanks anyway. And Nathan, Beyonce is weird sometimes. I do not understand the King B thing but i surely like it. Lol. And concerning the fact of being 3 months pregnant, is not it too much? I think she would have has a miscarriage for dancing so heavily at the Billboard music Awards and that UK festival starting with the letter G (No offense intended). Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:45, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Well a woman can do cardio until around 3 months, after that she risks losing the child, so yeah, 3 months. Lol. the Glastonbury Festival. Well remember, those are many months ago. I really love Adele. She is very beautiful (but fat sigh). Unfortunately, she seems to be losing her voice. Last nights performance was poor for her standards.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 17:48, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Just because you dance, doesn't mean you'll miscarriage. People usually wait until the 3 month/3.5 month mark until they say they are pregnant, as the first three months is the time when something is most likely to go "wrong". Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:50, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- And Adele has been suffering from a throat infection i think, he had to cancel some American dates on her tour recently because of it. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 17:52, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- (Four edit conflicts) David Guetta surely has a lot of number ones but he does not have longevity. For example, Beyonce has five number ones on the Hot 100 chart. Well, only five when others have so many may look little. But Beyonce has longevity. She is not among those hitting number one on iTunes on the first day f release. For instance, BTINH remained outside the top 80 of iTunes for a month and after that it climbed slowly. Since three weeks it, is stuck between #25 and #32. Similarly, despite having only five number ones (i can proudly say they are her songs, she is not the featuring artist on any of them), most of her song stay more than 27 weeks on the chart. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:54, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think i love Adele. She has meat. And i love girls with meat. I prefer not to even imagine a collection of visible bones laying next to me. Lol. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:58, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yes well many of Rihanna's #1s and biggest hits are as featured artists. Yeah, well Beyonce hs longevity only because she's an amazing performer. But her music itself doesn't look to be faring to well. We will see Jivesh, I hope her new album does a lot better! Lol. Well Adele is beautiful, but I don't like her body. She is 'too heavy. Yes, I don't lie bones either lol.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 18:01, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- (Why do I keep going into edit conflict when no one is posting?) Out of Rihanna's 10 number ones, only 4 of them have been a collaboration. Out of Beyonce's 5, 3 have been collaborations. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 18:04, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

There is a difference between a "collaboration" and being a featured artist. Compare "LTWYL" and "One Sweet Day". Its a duet and collaboration versus being a featured artist.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 18:07, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I really hope so Nathan. 4 is a very good album. I know the music might not please everyone but it really left critics with a nice level of satisfaction (73 based on 36 reviews!!!! even Adele did not get that many reviews, though she got 75). It would be great if it could do much better commercially. Beyonce is a fighter and i have faith that she will not abandon her album even if she is expecting sextuplets. Lol. Calvin we are not talking about collaborations but about being a featuring artist on someone else's single. Bye for now Calvin and Nathan. You both are amazing friends, i love chatting with you especially when it is about the girl residing in mind, heart, and........... i do not know where else. Lol. See you later. You two take care. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:12, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- If I can go here and place my opinions. I can't really understand, how Beyonce has 4 number-one albums in the United States, but just 5 number-one singles. Also I can't understand how Rihanna which has #10 number-one singles (we hope "Cheers" will be the #11) hasn't got yet a number-one album, her highest charting is GGGB at #2. And Adele, mm she is an interesting person, but sometimes very boring. The fatness is definetely her problem. Btw I'm also very sceptic and I have to agree with Calvin about the European music in America. Sometimes I really feel that the Americans are nationalists when it comes to music. For example all 5 Katy Perry singles went #1, and most of them are typically American, especially LFN (TGIF) (which I STRONGLY HATE). The song went #1 on the Macedonian airplay Antenna 5 FM, however ... Tomica1111 (talk) 18:13, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

I have a few answers to that. First of all, Rihanna is viewed as a singles artist, just as Katy Perry, where are Beyonce is not. It comes with the fame and success. Gaga was both, but is now moving towards albums. That's why. Also, yes well, Adele is more talented than Rihanna and Perry combine TBH. She is a singer-songwriter and is a very technical singer. She also is very beautiful, but yes, fat :(. I doubt "Cheers" will go number one, espicially since she didn't perform it at the VMAs. She lost a big window there. You'll see, all of the songs from last night will propel to the top and Riri will slowly fall. I think everyone loves Katy because of her bubbly personality and easy songs. They are relaxing and warm, I think everyone can relate to them. I think "Firework" is brilliant! Take care buddy, talk to you soon! :)--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 18:20, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I badly needed to come back and say. Nathan +1000. "Firework" in my opinion is the best song with a message. I love Katy Perry very much. And Beyonce hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm well i cannot say for sure, i guess she is both a single and an album seller. All her albums are at 7 million +, and even her singles do well. She is the top certified artist of the 2000s decade. Do not forget that. And also the radio artist of that decade itself. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:24, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Mmmm... we will see what will happen with "Cheers". "Firework" is a good song, but I actually hate the video, Teenage Dream and E.T. are perfect for me. But to be honest Katy Perry vocally is FAR FAR FAAAR .. from Rihanna, she sucks and all of you can feel it here Tomica1111 (talk) 18:26, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Tommy, Rihanna has many bad performances too. Need I remind you of "Only Girl" on SNL. "Firework" is a very difficult song to sing for anyone. When she performs is acapella (Ellen) she does much better. Also the Victoria Secret fashion show was great. IMO, Katy is a better singer than Rihanna. I just hate that whiny voice AKA "unfaithful" *chills*--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 18:31, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well Nath actually I don't share that opinion. If "Firework" is hard song to sing for Perry, why would she record it so high?! I personally think that the Victoria secret was lip-sync, just look the EMA, AMA and bunch of them. Yeah, but beware that "OG (ITW)" is also hard song to interpret. Look how she sings it at GMA. Tomica1111 (talk) 18:33, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Seriously, "Firework" is at least 100 times more difficult to sing that "Only Girl". No offense intended. However, Tommy you have a point. Singers should sing their songs live for real. But even Rihanna does not always sings live. In fact most of the time, she does not sing live and when she does, better not talk about the outcome!!! Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:39, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

- Rihanna sings live nearly always. I actually didn't see a performance where she lip-synced. However, yeah she uses back vocals and sometimes sings the song on a lower key than it's original. However, that's your opinion, by me Katy is an awful performer, Rihanna is better than good (4+ from 5). :) Tomica1111 (talk) 18:43, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well as I said. I think she handles the song fairly well live. And when you record in a studio, they usually have you do the vocals acapella and then blend them with the music for the high parts. I know the VS was not lip-sync, just some performances are better than others. Lol. Jivesh, that was funny :) In the end, they are both very close friends, so let's leave it at that. - Well Tommy Rihanna does not always sings live and that's a fact. You can research that. And 4+ out of 5 is a too much to be honest. Because then we should consider giving Britney a 4 out 5 at worst (for her singing after 2009). Lady GaGa will difinitely score a 10 out of five, a little more for Mariah and Beyonce. Anyway, bye for now. See you all later. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:54, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey Nath, I'm really greatful that you explained those things to me. They are a lot of Rihanna article to be improved - but the real problem is that I can not find sources, that's what my lack is. I'm doing the "Disturbia" article for maybe one month, because of lack of source and other stuff. "Cheers" is a new single, and there are plenty of source with which it can be expanded. The problem with Calvin is actually that I think he is gonna take every new Rihanna single/album and try to make it a GA, and I will not have place there. Otherwise I adore that song, cause me together with one friend accept it as our "anthem". However, it was decision that it will be our last co-nomination. Btw can I use your help? Can you try to find me sources for the Disturbia video and live performances. I can't really find, I would be greatful if u can do that for me. :) And thanks for your advices, I know you had a good will. C Y ! Tomica1111 (talk) 23:19, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
- I have looked 5645654645 times, but the sources for the STUPID music video are the real problem. There are only 3 ! :/ I also can not write the synopsis. Ahh this article gonna kill me. It Disturbes me ! hah :D Tomica1111 (talk) 23:31, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Again thanks, I "built" three enormous sections thanks to the sources. However, Nathan I saw that you uploaded pictures from Flick to Wikipedia (I read on some talk page, I'm not sure where). In the commons I can not find a free image where Rihanna performs "Disturbia". Can you find a picture from maybe 2008 MTV Music Video Awards, or from some of the tours, or maybe from the both, cause there is a lot of information. Thank You Tomica1111 (talk) 14:03, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Did you find anything ? Tomica1111 (talk) 22:25, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I found one. I'm trying to get it for you. Have patience.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:32, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Loud
When do you think you will be able to review the prose on Loud? Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 19:39, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I would say later today. I will post a quick review for now to keep you busy, and then resume after I've taken care of the others.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 19:44, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Cooool. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 19:45, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
I did your points for Loud. Also, I am editing the List of Rihanna songs for FLC, but I'm not really sure how long the Lead should be, or what I should even wrote about? lol. I have a bit of an idea. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 16:33, 30 August 2011 (UTC) Don't think you've seen this? lol Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 22:35, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- I did see this. I will take a look at Loud when I get the chance. As for the list, I'm not quite sure what you're asking me?--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:38, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Like, for the prose, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to talk about for the Lead concerning "a list of Rihanna songs". What is there to say? About from maybe talking about the musical genres, the development and changes of musical style with each new album, whom she's collaborated with? Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 22:43, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

- Hmmm, well I have never done an FLC for that, so I'm not sure. I would guess a nice three paragraph lead on the popular songs and their composition and success.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:51, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, and I can't find any FL Song Lists lol. Thanks. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 23:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
