Information icon Hello, I'm CLCStudent. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Ukraine has been undone because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Tchaikovski

[edit]

Peter. I have just reverted an edit on tchaikovski's page, and inadvertanly labelled yours as vandalism, which of course it wasn't, my bad. IdreamofJeanie (talk) 14:15, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete my edit anyway? And some person just deleted a lot of Stuff relating him to Ukrainian!

Information icon Hello, I'm Iryna Harpy. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ukraine, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. No editors are going to 'reintroduce' this aside as it's WP:OR. Of course it can be translated that way, but it's just a piece of fluff unless you have a reliable source actually discussing it as being significant... and your deduction is incorrect. Evidently, you're not aware of what the arguments are. See «Україна» — це не «окраїна» as an example. Russian documentation from the 16th century has other areas designated as "окраина", and meaning 'marginalia'. There is also the issue of the use of "вкраїна" as having been a widely used alternative name. The main objection is that the article on Ukraine is a broad scope article, and that it is WP:UNDUE to elaborate on theories about the name of the country when there is a dedicated article. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:36, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
