Kaiping Tramway and Imperial Railways of North China
[edit]Hi
I am a new contributor to Wikepedia and have been shocked by the agressive nature of the "watchers" out there who are so quick to attack contributors.
I am really becoming quite discouraged by people who hack away at other people's efforts while they themselves contribute little or nothing other than destroying the efforts of those who have spent hours of their submitting wothwhile contributions after hours of research.
On the other hand, I do understand the necessity for policing this site. Surely though, as a courtesy, those that elect to be "policemen" could some respect and discuss their criticisms with a contributor before hacking another person's work to pieces?
I have received CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions from a number of people but the first time you have come to my attention was after you complained that I had reinstated a picture , I now presume, you deleted without having had the coursesy of contacting me first.
I shall be bringing this to atttention to those who police Wikipedia's policemen unless I hear a respoinse from you which is a little more polite!

- I'm sorry that you're frustrated that your edits are being challenged, but if you really want to go out on a limb and attack the fact that I've pointed out something you're doing that's wrong, rather than address the actual issue, well .. I suppose that's your prerogative. Instead of that, though, why don't you try working in a way that allows a compromise to the article that makes everyone happy? No one "owns" a wiki page, you know! Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that anyone is free to edit - and removing a single image as what has got you so sad is not that big an edit. So please remember to assume good faith and remain civil. In the future, there is a manual of style, and if you want to avoid people copyediting the article in a way you don't like, well a good idea would be reading and following the manual of style! Birthright citizenship in the United States. Bias in article
[edit]Can you guide me towards a conflict resolution process? A user has used the weasel words "Other senators.." and when I marked it with a [who?] tag, that editor removed the [who?] tag. I suggested that he replace the phrase "Other senators.." with the phrase "Other senators, including[1] and [2]" (identifying two senators so as to justify the use of the plural. This editor refuses to even discuss it with me. I don't know where to go from here. I need some guidance.-65.189.247.6 (talk) 14:40, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Need a little help
[edit]Hi
I have constructed a new page Canton - Sam Shui Railway using my own Chinarail User page and after completing the pag assigned its proper title by using the "redirect" function instead of "Move" function.
The Canton - Sam Shui Railway article now opens but shows it it is a "redirection" from my user page. I have tried to rename this page but this gets blocked and I need permission. Are you able to put me right and tell me how to remove the "redirection" description.
thanks Peter crush Chinarail (talk) 07:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Call for Algonquin College's Campus Ambassador
[edit]Hello,
My name is Andrew. I'm the Regional Ambassador for the Canada Education Program. The goal of this program is to engage students and professors in using Wikipedia as a teaching tool. A professor from Algonquin College, which you indicated your affiliation with the college through your userpage, is participating in the program for Fall 2012 semester. We're seeking campus ambassadors, which we currently don't have for Algonquin College, who are available on-campus to help students. If you're interested (or have any other questions), please leave a message on my talk page. OhanaUnitedTalk page 03:27, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Ultima 43.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused logo with no article used, it's also can't move to commons because of an unused logo will be deleted as of out of project scope.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Willy1018 (talk) 06:16, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
