A tag has been placed on Zoom Entertainment, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. mhking (talk) 01:53, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

With all due respect, Pete, you appear to be promoting your personal business (Zoom Entertainment) by sprinkling links to your site throughout Wikipedia. I completely understand your desire to boost your page rank and market your business this way, but I must point out that this violates both the spirit of WP and numerous standards for WP content. On the other hand, you do seem to be sincerely interested in making positive contributions to WP. As far as I can tell, the only content at your site that might have WP value would be a few of your photos, and only the higher quality ones at that. If I may make a suggestion, then, perhaps you can upload a few of your best pix and insert them into appropriate WP articles? If you are discreet and sensible about it, you can credit your company as the contributor and generate some goodwill—and perhaps even a modest amount of marketing buzz—for your business. Thanks for your advice and I will take it. I am aware of the importance of the links for PR gain but balanced it up with the source of good photos directly related to the article. I guess I was wrong. I have no time at present but will act on your advice later and insert some quality photos of which I have many at higher resolution. I feel that would benefit WP and would hope eventually to be known as an asset to WP as I get time. Pete Heath (talk) 10:42, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
