Staring souls in Durham

The first sighting was in the 19th century, when a group of mysterious individuals; layered in black clothing, were spotted solemnly staring at a lamppost in market square. When questioned, they said nothing, following the movements of passers by, who were disturbing them.

This group of 'staring souls' are described as mixed in age, silent and sloth like in speed. It is suspected that these are lost souls of people of who have drowned in the river Wear and are searching for the light that they once knew if life. They have been spotted staring at anything that shines light; e.g. street lamps, through people's windows and even at the night sky.

They are harmless in nature, but creepy in character, they will remain in their location til they are summoned back through the doorway which they had entered our world from.
