Request for Input on Using "Bang Chan" Throughout the Article

Hi,

I hope you're doing well. I'm currently involved in a discussion on the talk page of Bang Chan, under the topic "Weird comment about name," regarding the consistent use of "Bang Chan" throughout his article, rather than reverting to just "Bang" after the initial mention. While one editor prefers to use "Bang" for subsequent references, others are fine with keeping "Bang Chan" throughout the article, as is common in similar cases. I’ve noticed that there are other articles, such as Gong Yoo, Megan Thee Stallion, and Lee Know, where the two-word name is consistently used throughout without reverting to the surname. Additionally, according to MOS:BIOEXCEPT, we are allowed to use a two-word name if the person is widely known by it, or if they have clearly declared and consistently used this as their preferred style. In this case, an overwhelming majority of reliable sources also follow this format for "Bang Chan."

Since you have experience in similar projects, I believe your input would greatly help in reaching a consensus. If you have the time, can I ping you there, could you kindly share your opinion on this matter? Your perspective would be very valuable to the discussion.

Biri-Biri

I've noticed you've worked a lot on articles pertaining to Yoasobi, so I figured I'd shoot you a message about this. I'm currently going through some Pokémon-related articles to assess notability, and I've found that Biri-Biri doesn't really seem to have much. There's some decent BTS info at a glance but there's basically no reviews or indication of the song having real-world impact beyond it just existing, and no real indicator it needs to be a split off Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's promotion section. I've searched both in English and Japanese and turned up nothing on both fronts, so I figured I'd ask you about this, since I'm very concerned about this article's notability and felt it best to double check with you since you're far more experienced in this subject area than I am. I think that "Biri-Biri" is a little bit notable enough as a the artist's song/single (chart performance). There's not much about reviews in Japanese song if it's not popular enough (like "Idol"). @PepeBonus I'm a bit confused on your rationale here. Are you saying it shouldn't be removed because Yoasobi is notable? Notability is not inherited. Biri-Biri needs information on its own to stand as an independently notable subject separate from Yoasobi. What's currently there is too weak to support an article, and if from what I'm gathering from your reply is true, there doesn't seem to be much other coverage. I would prefer Biri-Biri staying separate, hence why I came to you for help on this, but if nothing more exists then we're best off redirecting it. Has one ever considered Magneton? Sorry for my not good English that may make you confused. I read the article again and I still confirmed that it's notable enough, not inherited from Yoasobi, with composition, MV, etc. contents that now appeared on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet article, though it's not that much. @PepeBonus My main concerns are the fact there's no evidence of a real-world impact. Is there analysis of the song's lyrics? Articles highlighting the song's popularity? There's nothing really showing this impact, and routine information like charting information and live performances are things that are part of many songs, including those considered non-notable in other parts of the wiki. I'm mostly just speaking for Biri-Biri exclusively here this is the one I have the most familiarity with due to being a Pokémon fan. Has one ever considered Magneton? I think the table needs to add other person who composed the song more than just checkers like in List of songs written and produced by Soyeon or combine lyricist and composer to be writer like List of songs by Taylor Swift. And also standardized songs' title (ver. → version / feat. → featuring), corrected Korean titles, corrected album title (OST songs are not included on the OST album). Sorry for my not good English. For OST, I means Japanese drama/anime OST song that have no OST album as Korean drama OST do, so for Japanese OST, you add its parents album on the album column instead of drama/anime name.

For reviewing, please change "Writer(s)" to "Lyricist(s)" as writer means who both write the lyrics and compose the music, and you need to choose between using comma (,) or new line (<br>) in Composer(s) column. PepeBonus (talk) 13:34, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
