Hello everyone.

[edit]

What bugs me is plagiarism b/c I have actually been plagiarized. Good thing I formally copyrighted my writing with gov. office b/c someone else tried to take credit for some of my stuff. That experience made me super sensitive about how awful plagiarism is. You have to be pretty sleazy to do it in any form. Anyway, I love Wikipedia, my go-to for info, but I see evidence of plagiarism and hope to report it if found. Where are the banners we are supposed to use? Welcome to Wikipedia! Unfortunately, almost nobody will see your questions here. A better place to ask questions is at the Teahouse. The page Wikipedia:Copyright violations has some information for what to do if you see text that was wrongly copied from another source. Note that plagiarism on its own without violating copyright should not be handled the same way as copyright violations. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 19:53, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Adding source citations and quotation marks can eliminate soft plagiarism of someone else's writing. This might be the most common form. Pentuppecker (talk) 20:04, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
