Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "PennantMcCallie", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be a role account. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Apologies for my previous edits, and the disruption to your talk page. You CANNOT have a user profile operated by more than one person, nor a username that implies a "role" in an organization. One person, one user profile. PriusGod (talk) 00:58, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the following links for more information about our username policy, and our policy regarding accounts shared between multiple users, even over time:
Thank you for your contributions, but please request that your username be changed to be within the confines of the username policy at Special:GlobalRenameRequest. PriusGod (talk) 01:00, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm 2A00:23EE:1378:308E:4C74:FA6E:4DCC:56D8. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, The McCallie School, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 2A00:23EE:1378:308E:4C74:FA6E:4DCC:56D8 (talk) 09:23, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Request reason:

I run the McCallie Pennant and thought it would be fun to add the loads of information we have compiled over the course of this year onto our wikipedia page, since we did a deep dive into the history of the school and wrote stories on the history of the campus. I was not aware I was in any violation of wikipedia rules.

Decline reason:

It's not yet clear to me that you understand why your edits were inappropriate or how your future edits would differ, if unblocked. Yamla (talk) 22:21, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I didn't make it clear in my first response, I was not aware of the wikipedia guidelines regarding organizations, and I will take off that username (there is no conflict of interest and this was personal work, but I have the title of pennant archivist so I thought it would be fun to have a nod to that in my username.) Also I will work to be more accurate with my citations. Again apologies for this, wasn't aware the rules were this intense, and I'll be completely independent from the Pennant, and cite sources better. If I can be allowed to have my account back, I would archive our pennant collection, along with giving history of buildings and campus in general (similar to Baylor High School's)

If you're editing about your employer, then that is enough to trigger the mandatory paid editing disclosure policy. Since we have no way to verify that you are doing this "off the clock", our default position is that you must disclose as a paid editor. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 13:17, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
