Caste cats
BTW, are you planning on taking Category:Jat people and Category:Goud people to CfD? Also, I intend on taking all the sub cats in Category:Brahmin communities by language for renaming from "XXX Brahmins" to "XXX Brahmin communities". Any opinion on that? cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 07:51, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've taken the Goud people cat up to CfD. I just removed a lot of people from a wide range of cats. Rajputs still has some people in it, the cat is the classic example of malfunctions -- intended for topics but people have come in because of the ambiguous name. -SpacemanSpiff 00:58, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Converts to Hinduism
Regarding this revert, did you read the book page cited for the Levy entry? It says that Levy "converted by Guenon's works from Judaism to Islam". As for Salinger, adherents.com is not a reliable source, so you need to come up with a reliable one for that claim. Most other references say Salinger was "influenced" by Hindu-Buddhist rituals, which is far away from conversion to Hinduism. So, unless you come up with a reliable source, Salinger's entry can't be included simply supported by the unreliable Adherents.com ref. --Ragib (talk) 04:09, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification. The Sedgwick book indeed supports the statement (on page 93). However, I would like to see a reliable source for the Salinger entry. Adherents.com is not a reliable site despite your claims ... and if a well known writer like Salinger indeed converted to Hinduism (rather than "influenced" by it), there ought to be more references from reliable sources. So, I'll add a cite tag on Salinger for the time being. --Ragib (talk) 05:01, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 00:13, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Waugh
Please take a look at my discussion of Waugh (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Wendy_Doniger#Waugh).
There seems to be some academic criticism of Doniger by Professor Gregory Price Grieve, Ph.D. University of Chicago. see, http://books.google.com/books?id=NleE_GnZ_NgC&pg=PA262&dq=wendy+doniger+criticism&hl=en&ei=k342TKq3NIT58AaMl5CcAw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CFEQ6AEwCTge#v=onepage&q=wendy%20doniger%20criticism&f=false , pg. 262 The book highlights the tension between supposedly academic criticism and genuine religious tradition. July 2010
Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on Talk:Saffron_terror. Thank you. Please be more friendly to me and let me know if I have done anything to upset you. This is not an emotional topic for me but I recognize that it might be for you. I made a note about this here.
